Humble Atascocita offensive lineman Kenyon Green is a five-star prospect. He's a former LSU commitment who is now re-evaluating his options. On Saturday, Green visited Texas, and the Longhorns made a big move for the 6-5, 315-pounder.
Before this weekend, there was speculation that Texas may have been in a trailing position for Green, behind a school like Texas A&M. Not anymore.
"It went great," Green said.
The talented lineman listed a top-five (in no order) of Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and LSU. He'll visit LSU this Tuesday and will be at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp in Houston next Sunday, where OB will be able to watch him up close. He said he also may return to Austin this spring for another visit.
Green on where Texas fits in after Saturday's visit ...
"People can stop staying they're off the radar and stuff. They’re right up there at the top," he said.
I'll have a full report on Green either on Monday or in my 3-2-1 on Tuesday, but Texas definitely helped itself this weekend in a big way and I'm not sure the Longhorns aren't at least co-leaders in this one.
