Tuesday 9:30 p.m. update - Talked to UT commit Josh Thompson about his TCU official visit.

Thompson said he had a good time, but he's still 100 percent locked in for the Longhorns. In fact, he said he's probably going to shut things down and will not take any other visits besides his UT official visit.

Monday 11:30 a.m. update - With Texas being off this weekend, Charlie Strong said members of the UT staff will be on the road on Friday to take in games of the Longhorns' top targets.

That's to be expected, and it will likely be the usual suspects who will receive the visits from coaches. It will be interesting to see if Strong himself gets out this week. Remember, last week, Stanford head coach David Shaw made his way to Brenham to take in the entire game of Houston Episcopal/Brenham. Shaw was there to see five-star offensive lineman Walker Little, who took an unofficial visit to Stanford last weekend.

File away the name of Rivals250 safety Bubba Bolden. I'm told the Las Vegas Bishop Gorman is a prospect that is very high on the UT recruiting board.

Bolden, a 6-3, 183-pounder, does not hold a Texas offer yet, but that could change. He told me that if Texas does offer, he'd like to get to Austin for a visit. He has been in contact with Clay Jennings and Vance Bedford of late. Bolden, a former USC commitment, was actually born in Texas.

More on Bolden later in the week.
