What's the latest on Major and Clarington?

The irony of this Clarington news is if he scored a lower score on the ACT his score would have never been flagged. LMAO at the NCAA.

Was the 26 the only time he took the ACT? Trying to understand why he was flagged. If he only took it once, why would they think he cheated? If he took if earlier and made a really low score I get it, but some kids are just better test takers than students.
I would think a 26 is better than the vast majority of Power 5 football players.

Not sure if this is still the same but in the 90's if your ACT score increased more than 4 points, you were flagged and had to show proof (practice course work or tutoring information) or you can reschedule to take the test but had to have a passport ID, state ID and a student ID that were all photo copied and sealed with your test. You also had to sign several documents along with the proctor indicating you are who you say you are. Also you were held in a room by yourself with a proctor for the entirety of the test.

Hopefully this time they send in a black kid to take the test for him. Sending in an Indian kid named Devonaire Clarington kind of stands out.

Do any of you fellows remember that Roger Staubach had to go an extra year of prep to go to Navy?

Horns Digest is saying Clarington can take the test early as Saturday and the grading process will be quick.

That's great news for the kid to be able to retake the test. Just a sad bunch of people who assumes a kid cheated because he did good on a test. If that's the case, make everyone retake it that score a 26 or higher. Anyway, just kick butt on the test and then WELCOME TO THE 40

The way they are allowing him to take the test so soon and speeding up the grading process, tells you they know they've kind of screwed the kid.

He got flagged for questionable behavior during the test. Whatever that means.

Well lets hope that whatever Voodoo he worked to pass the ACT is still available for the next round of tests.

"The reason DC’s ACT got flagged was because of questionable behavior by DC during the test. The findings of an investigation by the ACT administration was turned over to Texas and the NCAA Clearinghouse, and the Clearinghouse determined on Wednesday that Clarington needed to retake the ACT to prove his results were obtained without a shadow of a doubt."

When you quote someone, give them credit so we have clue as to where your pulling the source material. Otherwise, it's troll-ish.

Received it in my email, it's from Chip.
yanking your chain....

Clarington could have appealed the Clearinghouse’s decision, but based on what? An appeal has to have a very clear point of contention – either challenging the findings of the investigation or the way the investigation was conducted.

Clarington showed no interest in appealing the decision.

So that’s all the bad news.

The good news is Clarington can retake the ACT almost immediately. Like Saturday. He can even have the test proctored if he meets certain qualifications, which means he can have extended time to complete the test.

And the ACT administration will turn around the results in 24 to 48 hours, which means Clarington absolutely could be enrolled this fall and be eligible immediately if he achieved a qualifying score.

So now it’s up to Clarington to decide when he’s ready to retake the ACT. The door is still open for him to qualify, enroll and be eligible for the 2015 football season.

What I heard is that the score was flagged because it's too high compared to his highschool grades.

Regardless of what he did or didn't do, taking a test after being out of school for a while is a bad idea.

why is taking the test after so long out of school a bad thing?...wishful thinking on your part?

I hope this means De La Torre will be used in a Swaim type role now.

IMO he's the best blocker out of Beck, Mcneal, and Whiteley. Really the only pass catching WR we have on campus is McNeal (until Clarington gets on campus).
