I know the reports are that he will miss 1-8 weeks which is such a huge range. But Im thinking he misses the next 3 games and comes back for the OU game. I think the next 3 games are winnable assuming Card is the starter and not too injured to start.

Predictions?

From what I read online Clavicale injuries it mainly depends on the front or backside part of the clavicle, if it’s backside he’s done for the season, if it’s frontside you could be right.

Whatever I wish him a speedy recovery and if he comes back for the OU game the front line has to protect him much better or whomever is playing.

Man, you all know how I feel about injuries. Rivalry or not, I hate it for Ewers. Here's to a full and speedy recovery.

I know it went down as a loss, one that many predicted, but you have to feel good about the way Texas played. Can you guys continue that level of play, that's the question. If you do, Texas is the frontrunner to win the Big 12.

That defense has me sweatin.

Yeah but can we continue it? That’s the question. We’ve all seen us fall apart after heartbreaking losses. I don’t think this team necessarily will, but the Ewers injury certainly complicated things.

SC joint is such an odd injury. I was wondering why they kept calling it a Clavicle Sprain. The weak spot is the AC joint and I was thinking they didn't want to come out and say shoulder separation.

Yer defense this year is best you've had in 12+ years. Who am I, but was impressed. Roll with it brother. You guys got jobbed yesterday imo. The reversal on that safety was pure bullshit, that was a play of beauty. I'm a fan of good clean football. Unfortunately, politics are involved now. Imo.👍

Stay dialed in here. We are going to need some clarification from you when the info comes out. In my limited knowledge, I'm thinking, take the shot for the pain and live with it. Mr. Ewers, welcome to football.

But wait, there could be more....
Bijan is currently getting an MRI on his shoulder too. Haven't heard about Cards ankle as of yet

The issue is a posterior dislocation at that joint could be fatal. I teach a Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries Class and we cover Clavicle fractures, AC Joint Separation, GH Joint Dislocations because those are fairly common. I don't really know much about this injury but I do know a bit about the anatomy of the SC joint. I don't know if there is really a good way to stabilize it with a wrap or brace. Probably something you have to let heal on its own.

How serious is it with it not being his throwing arm ?

It’s helps quite a bit not being the non throwing shoulder. Still hard to generate torque though. I believe Sam suffered a similar injury in 2018 but his was a grade 1 and it was his throwing arm. Can’t remember how much time he missed.

I would guess his earliest return date would be the Red River Shootout. That’s around 4 weeks.

It's not a shoulder though. It's more of a chest injury.

Ya well that’s not good then. Also sounds like it’s a pretty rare injury. O well, we can still win with Card as long as he’s alright. If not then I would prepare Malik Murphy. He’s got a big arm and we can lean on the run game for the next 4-5 weeks.

This is not THE year. Can we be good, yes. Is Card a liability, yes. This can be a blessing in disguise if it forces our team to play elite defense and run the ball to win. When Ewers returns, we will be tearing up the competition. The big question will be, will we be strong enough to do it? Past Longhorn teams have not.

That best RB in the country didn’t show up yesterday in the biggest game of his career.
hey, you know ricky had a game in 98 where he was held to 50-someodd yards. you know why? because k-state was full of nasty killers that year, and we couldn't block em or even shield em enough to give him a chance. same thing happened yesterday. stop with this "didn't show up" crap.

Have to be careful not to ruin the kids entire year. Remember back when sooners lost Bradford due to collar bone fracture I think? He came back for RRSO and reaggrivated it.

I don't think we get Ewers back until KState. Is Card/Wright good enough to get us a 4-2 stretch over the next 6? 3-3 at worst?

Because when Quinn gets back I don't think it is out of the question to expect 4-0, or 3-1 at the very worst.

That would still put us at 8-4 which I would be very happy with.

They are saying 4-6 weeks… just a gut feeling though… I think he’s back for Red River

Card/Wright hell. I’d feel better with Rojo/Murphy.

Not sure what you’re talking about. He had 130 all purpose yards and a TD on one of the best defenses in the country. If you thought we were going to run the ball on that Bama front then I don’t know what to tell you.
