When does Ewers return?

Ok you’re right! Bijan had an awesome game :)

Dude...Bijan had 130 total yards, the most of any player. If was obvious in the 2nd half that Bama was not worried about a below avg. QB that was gimpy. Bracketed Worthy and keyed Bijan on every snap.

Bijan had a very good 1st half. And had the circumstances been different I think you would've seen a little more production.

He didn't have a great game. Not a single offensive player did. But Bijan was productive. The big "Heisman" play of the game was assisted by an egregious hold on Oghoufo and a missed tackle by Watts.

Not exactly highlight city this game.

Ewers and Worthy did before Ewers got injured.

Either way, will you agree that Bijans Heisman chances are pretty much gone now after the bama game?

It's actually a bit more impressive when you add up all the variables against him.

1) inexperienced line with true freshman
2) a hobbled QBs passing game they didn't respect
3) Worthy blanketed all game
4) Bama assigned some to spy Bijan every single play (that's why Ewers carved Bama up with everyone not named Worthy)

Was it godly? No. Nothing special BUT he still turned in an average outing against arguably the best D-line in the nation.

Even with all of the gut shots we are now facing, the future looks very promising. We're seeing our players progress year over year versus regressing. Hold the line fellas.

This game meant more than a w. Meant more than a Heisman. This game was a decade of piss poor Effort and coaching and toughness being finally turned around. It was a show that we are actually playing and playing for something. Next year should be a special year and only go up from there.

If we play like Saturday all season the future looks bright and burnt orange.

Jaylen Ford (41) had 10 tackles, 2 tfl, a sack and a QBH. He was a dude I highlighted in the preseason thread as a guy to watch. He plays with urgency. That is a damn fine game against anyone, especially #1.

Anthony Cook was all over the place too. I think he had 9 tackles and 2 tfl. He was also a dude I was excited about.

The DL was fantastic and it has depth.

According to Ketch, it looks like Charles Wright will be starting at QB against UTSA. The coaching staff will be working hard with Maalik Murphy to get him ready for some reps as well. Hudson Card has a high ankle sprain and looks to miss some time.

If Im Sark I run alot of wildcat the next couple of weeks. I may be way off here, but it seems like Ewers is built kind of like Bradford was. Bradford dealt with a few crazy injuries in college that cost us games and a season at least. Ewers going to have to put on some muscle in the offseason?

A DUDE THAT IS GOING TO PLAY IN THE NFL NEXT YEAR SPIKED HIM SHOULDER- FIRST INTO THE TURF! THAT IS NOT BEING BRITTLE! THAT IS NOT BEING MADE OF TITANIUM!

DUDE GETS INJURED ONCE AND YOU DIPS THINK HE'S JIM MCMAHON.

Forgive Clob. He finally saw a QB that can throw the deep out, and he is not about to let go. Can’t say I blame him. 😂
This is truth.

I've been hammering this into ya'lls heads for years now.
Want to make the spread damn near impossible to defend?
Gotta have that guy that can make that throw.
It's the key.
It's the route that makes CBs hate life.
When you can throw that sucker when you need it, those corners are FORCED to defend against it, thus, opening up the middle of the field.
That ability is the difference between 5-7 and 10 wins.

I never said he got stabbed in the eye with a fork

I think he was a 4 year starter at Austin High. Threw for like 10k yards and 100+ TDs or something like that. I think :).

I do know he was an Iowa State commit before Texas came calling. And he throws a very nice deep ball, but has avg. arm strength.
Let’s give this kid a shot and see what he’s made of. Thankfully the next game is UTSA and not OU.

Anyone know how long Card is out for?

High ankle sprains are usually a few weeks. I know RoJo had one and came back in like a week last month, but that dude is just a freak.

Here's what they "used to" do to treat it.

Here's a bucket of ice water.
Next to it is a really hot whirl pool.

Put your foot in the ice water for 5 minutes. Then in the hot whirlpool for 5 minutes.
Then back into the ice water for 5-- then whirlpool for 5. You do this for an hour.
It fvcking sucks.

Bad.

Then you do 30 min of electric stem. Shock the sh!t out of you. Then they take this deep heat treatment silver thing and rub it on you with jelly.

Then back to the ice and whirlpool for another hour.

You do this sh!t all day until you want to die.

Then that late afternoon they wash your ankle with baby shampoo and clean it off real good, then paint your ankle with this horse lintament called DMSO. You taste garlic in your mouth.

Go to bed, wake up, do it all over again.

I bet it sped up the healing considerably

Oh I know, I was one of those unfortunate victims of this treatment. Twice.

I haven’t seen any news about this on Twitter or the internet at all. Ketch or Anwar haven’t tweeted about this.

I don’t doubt that Card will miss the next game at all, but does anyone have a direct source for this?

Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers to miss at least 2-3 weeks with clavicle injury suffered in loss to Alabama Crimson Tide
Mike CravenMike CravenSep 11 12:29 pm
Former five-star recruit Quinn Ewers was beginning to live up to the hype when an Alabama defender buried him into the dirt on a pass attempt. Ewers remained on the ground for a few minutes before exiting the game and heading to the locker room. The Southlake Carroll product and Ohio State transfer never returned to the game that finished with the Longhorns losing by one-point to the top-ranked team in America. Ewers was 9 of 12 for 134 yards before the injury, and that included a dropped touchdown pass by star receiver Xavier Worthy. Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reports that Ewers is out for at least 2-3 weeks with an injured clavicle.
Former Lake Travis product Hudson Card entered the game for the injured Ewers. Card was hurt himself during the game but kept playing despite a noticeable limp. Card should start for the Longhorns if healthy until Ewers returns. Card was 14 of 22 for 158 yards in the loss. He was sacked three times. Card is a third-year quarterback who played in 10 games with two starts in his career entering 2022.

2-3 weeks sounds a lot better than 4-6 but it seems like he's the only guy I have seen that has given that timeline. If it is only 2-3 weeks that changes everything. That would mean he's back by the RRS.
