He’s a dual threat so he can run a little bit. That’s should help a little bit. Our offensive line held up really well against Bama’s pass rush so he should have plenty of time to throw the ball. Just hope he doesn’t turn it over 3 or 4 times.
Wright just needs to be serviceable and manage the offense and not turn it over. If that happens and the defense plays like they're capable of, Texas will win with no problem. Sark knows what he's doing with QB's. He'll call high percentage plays for Wright. We have lots of offensive weapons. He'll shorten the playbook and not put Wright in a position to fail. In addition to working with Wright, Sark's job as HC is to make sure that there will not be a letdown from the Alabama game. I promise you that UTSA is keeping Sark up at night.
UTSA’s defense has struggled really bad in all 2 of their games thus far. The Army QB threw for over 300 yards on them this past weekend. They are also without their 2 offensive tackles. They are starting a walk on on the left side. We should be able to run the ball and play good defense and win this one by multiple scores.
A kid who threw for over 8,000 yards at a 6A high school. He had multiple division 1 offers and has been in the system for 3 years now. We will be just fine. You guys are putting way to much stock into this UTSA team.
Insiders on Reddit are saying Card will likely be this week's starter and Ewers may be good to go the following week.
So I was just listening to Bobby Burton and they said Card was out there at practice yesterday but Wright was taking reps with the 1's. They are going to wait until Friday night to make a decision on whether Card can go or not. Sounds like it's going to be a toss up between Card and Wright.
With all the wrong media reports about Card being the front runner for the starting job, I don’t really trust any insider info anymore. No one knows nothing.

That's insane. That's a 35 yard pass from the opposite hash, over a defender and it's on a rope. You can see why he had a perfect recruiting ranking. There's QBs starting in the NFL right now that can't even make that throw.

I have a feeling Wright will be the starter to protect Cards ankle but if it goes south, Card will be available to take over.
Exactly. Card will be emergency only. Let the run game and quick passes and defense when you thw game.
It would be nice to let Card take the day off and get him ready for the Tech game. I don't like our chances against Tech is Wright is the starter.
This is the most likely scenario in my opinion. If we get a big lead early we can just keep rolling with Wright and let Card heal up.

Ewers will suit up and travel with the team tomorrow. That all but tells me he's going to play since they have a 70 man limit on who can travel with the team. I don't think he makes the trip if he isn't playing.
Maybe as a backup. I could see them starting Card and if things start going the wrong direction or he gets hurt they bring in Ewers.
Ya that's what it's sounding like now. He's going to be there in case of an emergency.
I hope the coaches realize that Tech is going to be playing their super bowl and whatever they have done in previous games isn't going to matter much this game. We can't sleep walk and win.
