Why are TV rules analysts consistently so horrible

They never bring any insight or nuance and never explain the finer details of the rules. Just the gist of the rule like we’ve never watched football before.

They always come in and give simplistic break down of the play and almost never catch subtleties.

Matt Austin just had to be corrected because he didn’t notice the simultaneous shift.

I think there was one in the Texas game a few games ago where he was explaining something that had nothing to do with what they’re looking at. The play by play guy says “yeah but isn’t his foot out of bounds” and he was like “oh. Ugh. Yeah”
