She was a bad candidate. She was unelectable. In fact, one of the reasons I supported Obama in 2008 is because HRC is just not a likeable person. It's a fact.
The numbers bare it out. In terms of overall votes, Trump actually got less votes than Mitt Romney in 2012. Shockingly, HRC received 5,000,000 less votes in this election than Obama did in 2012. And she underperformed compared to Obama in all of the swing states she needed to win compared to Obama.
The fact is she has always been a technocrat. Not really a visionary at all, but more someone that desired the job for the sake of having the job. Hence, her plain pattern of calculation, deception, and cynicism.
Bottom line: this is on the Democratic Party. We nominated a loser. The only thing that made it close was that the GOP nominated a potentially equally flawed candidate. Had the GOP nominated Jeb Bush, or Kasich, it would have been a complete blowout.
