Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (13 days, folks... 13 days)

Kind of my point.
Dos Anjos was a champion. Khabib beat him easy. Is it his fault he didn't have a generational opponent? He WAS the generational fighter.

He was good friends with Daniel Cormier. DC once said he had no answers when he rolled with Khabib. He outweighed Khabib by 40 pounds and had a bear of a time with him in the gym.

One of Khabib's problems was that he made it look too easy. (To be fair, Jones had a similar problem) Although Jones had a tough time with Gustafsson in their first fight.

Khabib had a tough time with no one.

Ketch, I only have one question about your article. Who in the world do you think would invest top two round draft money on Quinn? I honestly believe he needs another year of seasoning (away from Texas) before any NFL team can really take a shot at drafting him. Maybe, just maybe, he would warrant a 6 or 7 round pick today, certainly not any higher. He has little pocket awareness and practically no deep ball accuracy, plus he is rather immobile. I think he is an amazing person, but just not ready for the league

when ranking the all time defenses, the only thing holding this group back is TDs

those all groups especially 05, were TD creating machines

Yes, the DB group has been special this year. Totally flipped the script from last year. But you’re showing your “youth” in this thread in a couple of ways. First, you throw some shade at the 1983 secondary. Those of us who were on campus would heartily disagree they don’t deserve a mention among the best ever on the 40 Acres. Your rationale has me puzzled. First, what’s a “bunk” offense? And the 1983 QB draft class included three hall of famers: Dan Marino, Jim Kelly and John Elway. Also, not including Suffragette City and Space Oddity in your top 10. If you were 20 years older, those would be top 10. Great write up! Love the back and forth on the QBs. I happen to agree with you that we have a couple of easier wins with Arch than Quinn. Probably still 9-1. Onward and Upward.

It doesn't matter if it's his fault or not. The resume is the resume. It doesn't hold a candle to Jones.

Because finding quarterbacks that work out on rookie contracts is worth its weight in gold.

The 1983 team played how many good passing offenses?

"Oh, I know that there's a small matter of Kentucky this weekend at DKR on Senior Day, but let's be honest about what that game represents ... zero jeopardy. As good as the Wildcats are on defense, they are equally bad on offense, which equates to having virtually no shot of beating the Longhorns in Austin."

I'll be honest. I don't like the idea of overlooking opponents. We're treating Kentucky, an SEC opponent, like it's a cupcake that many other SEC teams get to play for their penultimate regular season game. We used up those cards in the forms of Colorado State, ULM, and UTSA. I realize Kentucky isn't a traditional power, but they've already beaten Ole Miss and only lost to Georgia by a point, so this isn't the kind of team we need to screw around with. This smells like a classic trap game that could bite us in the ass if we're already focused on A&M. I don't like this, Ketch. I don't like it one bit. Okay, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I can overlook anyone I want to because I don't have to play ;)

To get an answer?
My answer is sure, maybe the 3rd or 4th best D we will have played. What I'm saying is only their D line is elite as everyone knows. The rest of the D can and will be had.

How would you rank them?

@Suchomel @Ketchum

I saw someone mention M. Simpson earlier. Is an offer gonna come his way or are Texas coaches big game hunting elsewhere?

the fact that Ketchum thinks he has top 50 national talent has stuck in my head.

Sark and company need to focus on the very next game---Kentucky. There are no gimmies in the SEC, especially when we know that Ewers is Sark's man and that Ewers does not always play winning football. The Longhorn's punting team is absolutely horrible. If there is no one on the squad that can consistently boot 40+ yards, why not have tryouts among the student body. With an enrollment of 50,000 students, surely there is one who can punt the football better .

IMO, we have'nt even seen the game plan this season , that I think Sark has planned for aggy. It will be totally unsuspecting. Who knows Quinn may show his running ability. Just have faith in Sark, he has this under control. Hook'em.

B/S Sark wins SEC coach of the year? If not who does?

(Buy) Yes, I think he's going to win it.

================================================================

If Texas beats Aggroid.

If A&M wins that game, I think Elko will win coach of the year. Probably not even close.

Yes, but we can do whatever we want because we don't play. :)
