Why Tom is a dead man walking

Got dayum, OP is a fcking retard. Lmao at your opinion of this recruiting class, specifically the OL which was a great haul, especially since it is the year before the strongest OL class in recent memory plays their Senior seasons. Top 10 class, 4 OL in the top 300 players in the nation, 3 DL who project well, with Collins and Princeley still on the board and even more importantly, no wasted schollies on borderline players just to fill the class after several de-commitments. Oh yea, 5 star Kelee Ringo is also still in the mix to join 3 other jam up secondary players and Hullaby still has to find a position, preferably defense.
The birds aren’t even worth talking about. Hopefully he was aiming both of them at “fans” like the OP. Fcking clown
Whoa! Say what u want, but 7-5 & firing both coordinators is a train wreck of a season.

In and of itself, the double bird is no big deal. As clob said I’m not going to lose any sleep over it, but it reveals who Tom is as a person. He’s a ducking clown shoe.

Integrity is who you are when nobody is watching. Tom thought nobody was watching and showed everyone what and who he really is.

There's one kid on DLine that think can help us. We signed two. There's two kids on the OLine that I think can help us. We signed four. The laws of attrition effect every class as do the laws of dumb luck. This is BARELY a top 10 class. You simply can not wild a dominant football team without offensive and defensive lineman. Period. Until Texas can consistently recruit O and D lineman that are the calibre of Bama, LSU, Clemson etc-- we will continue to be mired in the position we are in. We've signed world class DB after World class DB and our secondary is ranked what again in passing yards surrendered? And all the players you say are still in the mix, that's fine and dandy. But counting chickens before they hatch isn't the name of the game. This program lost a WR from lake Travis to Ohio State last year because why? Because in his opinion, Texas had a bad history of developing its players. Now those are his words, not mine. And that kid is killing it at Ohio State. And consequently, wha does Ohio State have that we don't? A bad ass offensive line and a world class DLine with hands down the nest defensive player in college football on the squad.
So name call all you want hoss. I'll stick to my facts and knowledge of the program. And yes, Tommy is a clown.

And I thought it was a pretty good day considering. But then again I’m not living on the edge.

With early signing day upon us, we aren't even in the top 10. Take at look at the top 7 recruits in our own state. How many are coming to Texas?

I'll take "Words that start with a Z and rhyme with smeero" for $500 Alex.

Aggy has two. Let that sink in. The number 8 recruit is a dual threat QB that honestly doesn't look like much of a threat to my eyes. The best running back and #1 recruit from north shore, he ain't coming here. No chance. Nada. Zip. That dude is going through the SEC door that aggy opened and will probably land at LSU or Bama.

We need defensive and offensive lineman. I see 1 guy on the DLine that was signed that can help us. We signed two in total.
On the OLine I think we've got two guys that can help us.

Newsflash Tommy, bad ass running backs and quarterbacks don't want to play for a team with a sh!t offensive line. And on a side note, bad ass linebackers (which you seem to covet) don't want to play behind three sh!tty down lineman. They want to play behind prison yard bullies.

And another thing-- how do you lose a WR to tcu at the last minute? TC fvcking U? It's not like the kid bounced to go play for a REAL school with a REAL QB like LSU or Clemson. Nope. You lost him to a team coached by a man with flop sweat and man boobs. Good job bro.

But your crowning achievement today was aired LIVE on the longhorn network. You went full on Tommy-tard when you decided to flip not one, (because when you go Tommy-tard, you go FULL Tommy-tard) but BOTH middle fingers right at the camera on LIVE, nationally broadcasted TV. You make Rick Perry's "adios MoFo" moment look like you lost a bet to the PR gods. Why not just whip out your tally wacker and go full Monty?

"Hey kids! Look! Helicopter helicopter helicopter!"

You really did it this time. If you were sitting up there with the number 1 recruiting class in america, chocked full of 5 star players and the top 3 kids from each state that matters-- ok. Pull your middle fingers out and put the world on notice that THOMAS is in the house and everyone better avoid dropping the soap in the shower. But no---
Here you sit with but 1 top 10 recruit in your own state, and you think it's a great idea to show everyone your age and or IQ on national Tv with your middle fingers. Jesus H Christ man-- you're not PT Barnum and this isn't your personal three ring circus. You represent the University of by God mother fvcking TEXAS. You represent the orange. You represent the white. You represent every current and former student, player, donor, and faculty member.

And the best way for you to express this honorable and cherished role as our leader is to whip out the double middle fingers like you're a 14 year old kid pounding booze and hanging out a truck window on spring break while you pass by a bunch of cops on bicycles?

Grow the fvck up Tommy-tard. What in the Holy fvck is wrong with you man?

Seriously, he did that? Wow . . . Tick tick tick . . .

Ok, serious time . . . The thing that has always bothered me about ole Tommy is his emphasis on skill players while ignoring power positions.

REGARDLESS OF YOUR SCHEME . . . FOOTBALL IS WON OR LOST ON THE LOS! NO EXCEPTIONS.

Tommy doesn't understand this. It will be his downfall.

I believe we led the Big 12 in getting our QB (Sam) sacked. We picked up 4 OL (3 four star & 1 three star, but all the same size) in the 2020 class (with no offensive coordinator hired yet). Is that great, good, average, below average, or terrible? I think that’s average to good, considering the circumstances, no?

However, we only got 2 DL in this class (1 three star & 1 four star). Considering we want to switch to a 4-3; I think that’s terrible.

Two of the best QBs in the country, 4 composite four stars on the OL, 2 DTs with a spin down End candidate in Dorbrah, an athlete in Hullaby who very well may end up at LB, 3 very good DB prospects, a ton of top end guys still to fight for. Yawn, just another day for Herman and company.

You have a very cavalier attitude toward Herman and his obvious shortcomings.

When it comes to recruiting, I don’t worry about Herman. We had some bad luck last year with guys who were supposed to come in and provide depth in areas, but talent wise he has us headed in the right direction. He has also proven that he will go get grad transfers and JUCOs as needed, to plug holes in key positions which is why we actually have depth along both fronts for the first time since 2006. He fired both coordinators and still has a top ten class two months before the second signing day. I’m not worried.

The negativity towards this recruiting class is a bit confusing.

Two absolute stud QBs and the top RB in the nation.

4 OL that many are very high on. Will they all pan out, no but do they all have a shot, yes. @clob94 who are the 2 you like? Garth is very large and very athletic for his size, RT or LT. Karic is another large frame who can move. He needs to add some size but is another guy who can play RT or LT. Parr won't get you too excited but apparently is consistently good, rarely beat. Majors is going to learn and move to the center position. If he takes to it, that would be a very important get.

And what about DL @clob94? I'm assuming you like Vernon Broughton. The edge rusher people have mentioned is Prince Dorbah. Those two are individiaully very good but make for a light DL haul. If we can add at least one of Alfred Collins or Princely Umanmielen we are back to having a very solid DL class.

So back to the topic at hand, Herman is now saying that he was merely retelling the story about his first OU-Texas experience and showing how the OU fans were flipping him off. So, if that’s true(which it’s not) is the black coach/assistant sitting at the table and turning around towards the camera to shoot both fingers at it, retelling his first OU-Texas experience too? Good grief Herman, dude is a narcissistic, as others have pointed out.

It was a stupid thing to do and he is trying to downplay it but it is also very petty. Now if he would have multiple players using drugs and trying to downplay it and looking for a way to ignore it I might be a little more critical of it.

Lost cause. The mob is too pissed about the season to take an accurate account on recruiting. The negativity will flow into everything Texas related.

Look at that Clemson class. Wow. In that weak sauce ACC, they won't lose another game for years. How did OU let Venables get away? The top DT and DE in the country. Wow.

Who cares about the middle fingers. Is it unlike MB or Darryl Royal yes but they were old farts from a different era. Honestly the only people making a ruckus is our fans and the occasional sooner or aggy. I get it we’re a classy fan base (some of us) but no one will give a shit about it next month or even next week.

TH needs to grow up but this is who he is. Just need to get to 10+ winning seasons and no one cares what he does. Well someone will whine about something but at least it will be the minority.

If you’re referring to Riley, not much downplaying anything when your best DL is suspended and you back up rb, who would have seen significant playing time is suspended. I’ll go one further DHHorn if OU were to beat LSU, which they won’t, I’d make those guys continue to sit.

Like Clob said, you’re the coach of Texas, not Houston. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a huge deal but combined with his other crap and the fact that Texas regressed significantly this year, it is a big deal

I’m still not upset we got rid of Venables. At that time Venables had earned his walking papers. Who knows maybe Bob Stoops was holding back his potential but his defense had some major malfunctions in embarrassing fashion.

When we lose the #69 recruit in the nation to TCU (T....C....U) days before signing day, I get a little worried.

If Texas can get their shit together next year and win at Baton Rouge as well as Dallas and have a 10+ win season then I think the class we get next year will rival the 2002 class

I'm glad you're cool with the Mizzou taunting, the fight at midfield, the ok cool hook em, the middle finger, the vodka, the helmet headbutt, the sledge hammer, and so on...as well as 7-5 with a sputtering offense that returned a supposed Heisman hopeful

If this coach were anywhere else he would get flipping roasted.

Losing Johnston hurt, especially because it isn't a great WR class otherwise and we have a major need there. I wouldn't worry long term about that though as a systemic issue. This kid liked Mehringer and didn't have an OC or WR in his place to re-recruit him. I'm glad Herman hasn't rushed the OC hire just to appease 2020 recruits.

BTW, WR recruiting has been hit or miss and a lot of that was due to Mehringer. He slow played Garrett Wilson and Jaxson Smith-Ngiba. What an idiot.

It makes no sense whatsoever. Out of the OL Texas signed, Karic is lowest rated but has the most potential to be an absolute, stud. How anyone could be disappointed with that class is beyond me, especially since next year’s class is destined to be even stronger.
The DL class technically only lists two, but it’s not finished and Dorbrah will get time rushing the passer after he puts on good weight. I believe Collins will be in burnt orange when it’s all said and done, which would make for a more than solid DL haul, specially if we can get Princely back on board. Hullaby will be a candidate at LB and Texas flipped 3 star Jaylan Ford from Utah as well. Adds needed depth on the second level and Dorbrah likely begins his career there before spinning down.

His position coach was run off, as well as the OC who is yet to be replaced. Worrying about that is a silly waste of time.

I'm going to try and do a catch all post here--

If this was the first time Tommy had done something that made us all shake our heads-- I'd shrug and think "meh, he was just clowning around". I might have even bought the OU fan story to cover up his stupidity and actions. But the other coach doing it made it very clear that Tommy is now doubling down and LYING. That's poor character. That's not who young men are supposed to look to as their mentor. Own it. You were being a horse's ass and got caught, end of story. It's just another affirmation that he lacks moral fiber.

Now adding this onto the Missouri titty rub, which we ALL covered here in great detail-- you're a coach-- you don't get to taunt kids even if they tainted you first. This isn't grade school. " but...but... he started it!" is an excuse that a child uses.

Running out onto a field to try and fight Mike Gundy was his second snafu. His excuse "I was just trying to protect my players from............. (Wait for it) ....... Coach Gundy.."

Bro-- there isn't a player on your team that couldn't stomp a mudhole in Mike Gundy's ass, sans your kicker. Your players are wearing basically BODY ARMOR. Gundy is 6'1 and 190 soaking wet.

Qbs--- great. We got two QBs and one is banged up. Pro tip-- only one Qb at a time can play.

Rb-- depending on the recruiting service this kid is ranked as high as #2 and as low as #22. Based on the last Gatorade player of the year we signed (who by the way is no longer fielding punts because he panics) I'm going to reserve my judgement because I was high on the last Arizona kid we signed.

On Dline-- broughton is the only kid I think can help us. Sawyer is slow footed and only had one other P5 offer that I know of, okie lite.
Prince Dorbah is NOT a defensive lineman. He's 6'2 and weighs 205-10. That's a free safety. Not a defensive lineman.

OLine-- Garth can help us. He just needs a little time to mature. Solid grab.
Logan Parr has upshot. Needs to work on his foot speed but he has a nice punch at the point of attack.
Majors is from a little school and has bullied smaller players his entire career. He's in for a rude awakening.
Karic is a wildcard. He might pan out. He's a mix of good foot work and bad hand placement. He holds like a MoFo. He gets in his rocking chair fairly well on passing downs but he doesn't maul people on running plays. He's had REALLY good coaching and it shows, but he just doesn't have that nasty streak I look for in a left tackle. As I said-- wildcard.

You want to see a recruiting class that I can't find one thing to bitch about? Stroll on over and have a gander at Clemson's class. Jesus h Christ what a haul.

LOL. Yea, anyone listening to anything that you say about Herman and this program without realizing the tainted lense you’re looking through will certainly be led astray.

Of course...haha, I mean who cares about an absolute stud WR that bolts 2 days before signing day. Nothing to see here.

Get off it
That’s right. Who cares? Losing recruits is normal when the staff turnover is high. I’m sure you were on this board throwing a fit and crying for a new OC, weren’t you? So that’s part of the consequences

Don’t feel bad, we lost a rb to Bama on signing day that had been verbally committed for over a year.

You’re being critical of a class because:

- The class isn’t as good as the reigning national championship teams class and program that has won two national championships in the last four years. I’m shocked!

- they signed two national top 100 quarterbacks instead of just one. Really? Not only do the two quarterbacks have unique skill sets to each other, quarterback depth in general is crucial to a program especially in the day of the transfer portal. Not only that, in the same complaint you then complain about one being hurt. Hello, hence the reason for depth. This is a great “problem” to have.

- spinning as hard as you can to complain about signing a five star running back. Really?

- Dorbah will be in edge rusher in college. We’re only at the first signing day and they’ve signed four offensive lineman and 2-3DL with the potential to sign more of the second signing day
