Why Tom is a dead man walking

You’re being critical of a class because:

- The class isn’t as good as the reigning national championship teams class and program that has won two national championships in the last four years. I’m shocked!

- they signed two national top 100 quarterbacks instead of just one. Really? Not only do the two quarterbacks have unique skill sets to each other, quarterback depth in general is crucial to a program especially in the day of the transfer portal. Not only that, in the same complaint you then complain about one being hurt. Hello, hence the reason for depth. This is a great “problem” to have.

- spinning as hard as you can to complain about signing a five star running back. Really?

- Dorbah will be in edge rusher in college. We’re only at the first signing day and they’ve signed four offensive lineman and 2-3DL with the potential to sign more of the second signing day

It's a good class...especially for the size. Could be a great class when all is said and done.

We have missed on so many QBs that came out of this state in the last 12 years that yes, I admit I'm gun shy.

I'm not spinning on a 5 star RB. I'm leery because he plays in Arizona, where HS football is a far cry from Texas, Cali, Florida competition. Deborah has short arms and needs to add 40 pounds--- which will slow him down. Even if it's muscle, he will slow down. A slow edge rusher = not good.

And HELL YES I'm pissed and envious that Clemson has such an amazing class. Are you pissed that 7-5 aggy has a higher rating than we do? How do you spin that?

Qbs--- great. We got two QBs and one is banged up. Pro tip-- only one Qb at a time can play.

Rb-- depending on the recruiting service this kid is ranked as high as #2 and as low as #22. Based on the last Gatorade player of the year we signed (who by the way is no longer fielding punts because he panics) I'm going to reserve my judgement because I was high on the last Arizona kid we signed.

On Dline-- broughton is the only kid I think can help us. Sawyer is slow footed and only had one other P5 offer that I know of, okie lite.
Prince Dorbah is NOT a defensive lineman. He's 6'2 and weighs 205-10. That's a free safety. Not a defensive lineman.

OLine-- Garth can help us. He just needs a little time to mature. Solid grab.
Logan Parr has upshot. Needs to work on his foot speed but he has a nice punch at the point of attack.
Majors is from a little school and has bullied smaller players his entire career. He's in for a rude awakening.
Karic is a wildcard. He might pan out. He's a mix of good foot work and bad hand placement. He holds like a MoFo. He gets in his rocking chair fairly well on passing downs but he doesn't maul people on running plays. He's had REALLY good coaching and it shows, but he just doesn't have that nasty streak I look for in a left tackle. As I said-- wildcard.

You want to see a recruiting class that I can't find one thing to bitch about? Stroll on over and have a gander at Clemson's class. Jesus h Christ what a haul.
On QB - I agree, I would be surprised if both Card and Jackson are here (as QBs) for all 4 years. Both will likely redshirt in 2020 (Unless JQJs knee recovers and he has some special package). In 2021, we will have Casey Thompson, Card, JQJ and a true freshman Jalen Milroe battle it out to take over the QB1 role. Again, you take both because that just bolsters your 2021 competition. We will see QB transfers or position changes (Card was a stud WR, JQJ could play anywhere he wanted).

RB - grasping at straws to find a negative about Bijan. Tell me, which RB would you prefer? And I'm not sure using Jake Smith as a comparison holds any water. Jake is a different dude and we know how much of a mess the WR room was this year. I blame Mehringer and for Jake's struggles more than anything.

OL - We shall see about the OL. I think we have about as good a group as there was to get this year. OL are hard to project. I think finding Karic late was a great move. Hopefully 2/3 pan out nicely

DL - Reserving judgement on the class considering we have 2 out of a likely 4. Lets see what Princely and Collins do and than critique.

Good point. Though for Clob's sake I'll assume he has to stay at RB since we just grabbed a garbage 5 star from Arizona. ::sarcasm::
I wonder if the new OC will utilize D Young. He is no slouch. He had a couple of fumbles as a freshman, but not enough to withhold him from so much playing time. I know he was hurt for a while this year, but I would like to see him play and see what he can do as an upperclassman now.

Someone tell Clemson ‘stars’ don’t matter so they’ll stop signing (6) 5 star players in the early round

OP served purpose, to get attention, told one truth, that TH flipped the bird at a live camera. The rest not so much.

Tommy didn't rub himself while taunting an opposing player? Guess you missed that one. Tommy didn't run out on the field and get a 15 yard penalty and say later he was running out there to defend his players from gundy? Those antics might fly in your world.

Wow, never heard the Missouri incident described as rubbing himself. No problem here at all with what he did, Texas players needed a mental boost with that game and he did that. Did you see how fired up it made the players? Showed he is human.

Also the OSU run on the field incident, he was showing support to his players, is there a coach anywhere at any level that has not gone on the field and gotten a unsportsmanlike penalty? No problem at all with it. Doubt you can find over 10 Longhorn fans anywhere that really consider those big problems.

Can find more that want TH gone for sure, but these 2 complaints are over the top complaints. The post is showing more of an obsessive compulsive reaction to the most minute things TH does than anything.

I get it. You think he's the guy. I think he has the ability to be the guy but he's a long way away. This is not a normal coaching job. Far from it. It takes a certain mentality to achieve at the job at a high level and right now-- Tom lacks the maturity to do so. How many 15 yards penalties did mack get in his coaching career? And I don't care what you say about the Mizzu incident-- it's NEVER ok for a coach to taunt opposing players. Period. Full stop. You have a problem with the other team-- then you take it up with the other coach after the game like an adult. And if a coach must resort to taunting an opposing player in order to "fire up" his own kids--- then you're doing it wrong. Show me where Saban or Dabo have done this.

The problem herein lies in the fact that your team regressed this year. If the Horns we’re headed for the playoffs, Tom’s antics would be stuff of legend, as it sits it’s fodder for the naysayers.

I didn't realize TH had an Orangebloods account...

I simply believe the debate should be with performance of the team, the performance argument has merit to discuss, but these ongoing silly parsing of each action, each word and responses to interviews that have no merit to the debate only hurt your case. Simply because of an overreaction to all he does, and for no other reason other than you don’t like the guy. None of what you say has affected the performance of the team and that is what should matter.

Haven’t seen Swinney do it, but have seen Saban say something to opposing players on the sideline.

And the on the field performance of the team has been sub-par-- which as bell suggested, make the antics appear framed in an even worse light. When you ain't winning, keep your head down and your mouth shut. Winners get to whip their wang out in public and are given a hall pass because, well, you know.

Did y'all see the contract between Disney and the SEC? Goodness. It might be time to let go of the snobbery and jump ship with OU in tow. I think that deal gets done.

I don't trust Mickey. Anybody that owns a massive media AND entertainment organization that now wants to basically own a massive sports organization can't be trusted.

Maybe this is why UT was the the most penalized team in the Big 12, because their head coach lacks discipline. Maybe that’s why the team can’t do basic fundamentals like blocking & tackling. Their coach can’t do basic things.

Exactly this, is there any wonder why he has players that commit stupid penalties and make stupid mistakes.
