Hey WWII and military gurus - I would like a book recommendation relating to the U-Boat war in the Atlantic. I read Iron Coffins back 100 years ago when I was in high school and absolutely loved it. Was going to read it again and saw something on a WWII forum that totally discredited the author, Herbert Werner. Basically said that he made up a lot of the stats on his boats' kills. The guy posting said that he and others had done research through the Kriegsmarine records in Germany several years back. Who is right? Who knows.
