Man, I have met Mack and have always thought he was a class act. The more stories I here, it makes me think we don't know Mack at all. Mack may be a complete phony.

Well, I think the story is certainly "semi-factional" if nothing else....Originally posted by Ketchum:
whether factual, semi-factional or wrong......

Cuz like all "Witch-Hunts" the mob cares only to fan the flames even higher to get their "Witch!" Have you not seen all the vitriol & hatred on here for Mack lately?---How so many on here will use anything & everything Mack says or does and put the most negative spin on it? Its out of control! My god, if I didn't know better and/or was not aware of all the things Mack has done for not only the football program, but the univerisity in general, I'd have no choice but to conclude from all the posts that Mack was not only one of the worst coaches ever, but that he was as vile a man as ever lived! The ugly, twisted distotions of Mack are morally repugnant to me. And I am one of those that thinks its time Dodds & Mack left and/or retired. However, its this very vitriol spewed at him 24/7 that probably makes him want to dig in even more and say to y'all: "F U!!" I'll leave on my terms, and hell if after all I've done around here, I get 'tarred & feathered and run out on a rail!" {metaphorically speaking of course} by a rabid mob!" Semantics, the issue is Mack felt the need to say a freakin word to Babers at all.Originally posted by lilMAC:
For one, as pointed out earlier there is a vast difference between being fired on the spot (OP's words) and being admonished (Babers' words).Originally posted by DizzG:

if it happened why shouldnt it be posted? It seems Babers has already admitted he was called in on the radio. This happened to Brian Jones. Sadly is not insane to bring this up

Mack has two sides.... a great boss and overall nice guy when winning. And the opposite when we aren't. He really is pretty thin skinned.Originally posted by DKR-3rings:

Ok, but let's use actual facts for a background here. We know he did the same to Brian Jones, we know he at the very least got on Babers for not towing the company line, we know for a fact he's tried to control people's message in the past. That leads me to deduce there's a ver real possibility the OP was accurate. We've seen it before, why wouldn't he do it again. And besides, to me the issue isn't whether he was fired or the OP is totally accurate, we know for a fact, level 1, that at the very minimum Mack called Babers to give him a tongue lashing over his comments.Originally posted by Baguette:Cuz like all "Witch-Hunts" the mob cares only to fan the flames even higher to get their "Witch!" Sorry Baguette, I don't capiche much of what you said. Ugly, twisted distortions of a coach verbally dressing down a reporter should never happen, because the coach should be busy FIXIN THINGS and not dressing down inconsequential reporting. And if Mack wanted to give us an "F U" you would be all for it correct, Mr morality? I think the point made by so many of the posters you call the mob is that it would not surprise us if he got in a tiffy about people's comments and tried to stay longer - even thought it doesn't help the team, university, or himself. Most aren't on a witch hunt, they are just wondering when is the charade enough???Originally posted by Baguette:

Yes, and that came out in the course of this discussion. I really don't see a problem with the thread when you view it in its entirety. The facts, or lack of them, usually come to light.Originally posted by lilMAC:

Yeah, but until we have actual proof to support this story, its still only " a possibility." The larger point I'm trying to make here concerns the "Paint It Black" crowd.Originally posted by PureTexan:

Nothing more needs to be said when that is stated. That's the last thing he needs to be worried about right now.
You'd have a point except that the story's true. This is the same "coach" who took time out of his week to seek out and personally call and dress down an individual fan for negative remarks in the media. Mack does this shit. Sorry it hurts your hero image of him.Originally posted by Baguette:
