Peptide Overview?

Your body makes peptides. They’re strings of amino acids. As we age, our body’s natural production of essential amino acids decreases. These amino acids create peptides, necessary components to many functions of the body.  They also produce Human Growth Hormone, which plays a vital role in your strength and energy levels.

Peptides are the building blocks of proteins; these naturally occurring chains of amino acids provide powerful relief to common disorders of aging, including relieving erectile dysfunction, enhancing gym performance, aiding in the body’s repair after injury, promoting weight loss with lean muscle gain, increasing growth hormone production, and even helping reverse signs of physical aging.

Today, I will discuss one of the most widely used peptides in my clinical practice, BPC-157, also known as “the Wolverine drug.”

Screenshot-2024-11-11-at-9.33.17 AM.jpg

BPC-157

It is naturally found in the human gut, and plays a role in maintaining gut health. When taken orally in pill form, it reduces gastric reflux, heals peptic ulcers, and has been shown beneficial in Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

BPC-157 may be given subcutaneously, providing impressive healing properties to injured muscles, tendons, and even spinal cord injuries (in rats). It has been shown to increase angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth) to damaged tissue, promoting regional healing. I frequently apply this peptide to musculoskeletal injuries such as rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, chronic joint osteoarthritis, muscle strains, and more.

Some potential benefits of BPC-157 include:
  • Accelerated healing
  • Alleviation of pain and inflammation
  • Amplified muscle strength and endurance
  • Optimized joint health
  • Mitigation of injury risks
  • Fortified immune system
Screenshot-2024-11-11-at-9.33.05 AM.jpg

BPC-157 is currently not FDA-approved, as there have been no large controlled human trials. However, there were no signs of toxicity or side effects in human and animal studies, and all studies suggest tremendous healing benefits. Your physician may use BPC-157 as an off-label treatment.

Is BPC-157 Right For You?

Happy Victory Monday VII 🤘

* Trey Moore finally got into the Sack column on Saturday, he has 13 pressures since Oklahoma (Week 7)
** Texas has allowed just 15 plays of 20+ yards on Defense... leading the 2nd place team Ohio State by 10

**** Quinn Ewers continues to dominate the Short areas of the field (0-9 yards) - He leads the Power 5 with a 125.6 Passer Rating
***** Texas is Tied for First in America with fewer than 19 defensive possessions reaching the Red Zone, this is tied with Ohio State/Iowa State, to lead the Power 5.
****** Texas LEADS the Southeastern Conference in Defensive Interceptions as a team (14)

Checking in "Behind Enemy Lines"

Arkansas Razorbacks (5 days until)

1. INJURIES - Taylen Green and Ja'Quinden Jackson:

Quote from Sam Pittman Mid-Week Presser last week

"I still think we’re a few days away from both those guys, determining what their ability to play against Texas would be," Pittman said. "I can tell you this, I don’t know if either one of them would be able to play if we were playing Saturday. Without avoiding the questions, just giving you a true answer, I think we still have to wait until probably a Monday of next week to see exactly where we’re at with those two guys.

"Taylen’s got a sprained knee, and certainly JJ’s got that ankle. They were out in the walkthrough yesterday, but I don’t know that they’ll be available really for practice today."

2. BYE WEEK - Sam Pittman off of a Bye Week:

Dec. 5 at Missouri: L

2021:

2022:

2023:
Nov. 4 at Florida: W

2024:
Oct. 19 vs 8. LSU: L
Nov. 16 vs 3. Texas:

3. SELMAN BRIDGES - Freshman Cornerback:

Bridges is a four-star cornerback recruit out of Temple, Texas, and he's logged just 10 defensive snaps this season, all of which came in the opener against UAPB. Bridges has appeared in six games on special teams, which means he isn't eligible to redshirt anymore.

Sam Pittman was asked if there was any chance of Selman Bridges would see the field, given the struggles in the secondary.

"Well, there’s certainly a chance of that, yes," Pittman said regarding Bridges getting some action. "I think we have to look at all things. How we’re coaching it. The coverages that we’re playing. The people that we’re asking to play those coverages, and we certainly have given that a good look and have made some changes there to see if we can get better. Selman’s certainly one of the guys in that thought process, as well. He’s done really a good job out there, and we’ll see what happens there, but he certainly has improved greatly this camp."

I will have more Behind Enemy Lines on Wednesday when more comes out on the "Hawg Beat", this week!

Defensive Super Explosives 2024

Another week goes by and it's another week with Texas sitting atop the country at NOT allowing the opposition to create explosive plays. I'm not sure if this can honestly be understood, but the numbers are proof that this entire defense is playing at an ELITE level, we are 9 games in and this is astonishing.

- Texas has allowed just 5 plays of 30+ yards, ranking #1 in the country. Leading Army, Tennessee, and Sam Houston State by 1.
- Texas has also allowed just 15 plays of 20+ yards, ranking #1 in the country. Leading Ohio State by 10.
- Texas has also allowed just 69 plays of 10+ yards, ranking #1 in the country. Leading Ohio State by 8.

Haha CNN Reporting Federal Workers aka Lazy Incompetent POS Are Suffering PTSD from Trump Victory

CNN Correspondent René Marsh:

“We are in a new dystopian hellscape — that is from a federal employee via text message last night, and that is the mindset of many of the 2 million federal workers anticipating Donald Trump’s return to office.

Some employees who lived through the first Trump administration say they are experiencing PTSD.

One saying, quote, ‘We are absolutely having conversations amongst ourselves about whether we can stomach a round two.’”

I Hope the House Goes Republican

I really do. Total control of the government. And we’ll see how well Today’s Republican Party governs. I will be interested to see:

— how does the party handle total fiscal control? Taxes? Social Security? Defense Spending? Debt limits?

— Does Congress finally rescind the affordable Care Act?

— What sort of Border legislation gets passed?

Other things I am curious to see is whether the U.S. pulls out of NATO?

Does the U.S. cut off Ukraine funding?

Will Trump impose tariffs?

What will be the U.S.’ position on the Gaza War?

I hope the country does well. We will see.

Remember how the left told us the Dobbs decision would cost Republicans the election?

Well, not according to the AP:

The gender gap was big but not unusual
Men were more likely than women to support President-elect Trump, the survey showed. That gap in voting preferences has largely remained the same, even as vote choice among men and women has moved modestly.
Harris had the advantage among women, winning 53% to Trump’s 46%, but that margin was somewhat narrower than President Joe Biden’s in 2020, according to the survey. In 2020, VoteCast showed Biden won 55% of women, while 43% went for Trump.
And it’s nothing new: The majority of women have preferred the Democratic candidate in every presidential election since 1996, according to the Center for American Women in Politics at Rutgers University.
. . . .
Economic concerns cut across gender
This was the first presidential election since the Supreme Court overturned Roe. v. Wade, and it was the second chance in history for Americans to elect their first female president.

Those issues, along with worries about the sexist rhetoric from the Trump camp, were important to many women. But concerns about immigration and inflation weighed more heavily on many voters and cut across gender lines.

“Fear of looking stupid is the No. 1 killer of dreams. The worst part? The people who make you feel stupid are usually the ones least qualified to judge someone else’s life.” —Anthony Moore

Have you ever had a dream to do something you are passionate about only to have someone or several people in your sphere of influence tell you that you “can’t” to it? Maybe they told you it will “never work” or you aren’t talented enough to make it successful. Perhaps they gave you a list of reasons why it wouldn’t work.

I’ve had this happen to me a few times growing up. I’ve had parents, friends, school peers, even my wife try to tell me to not go for what I thought I could do.

What I have found is most, if not all of these people, either was very risk adverse or they had fear rule their thinking.

I didn’t ignore their “advice”, I chose to weigh the risks vs. the reward and decided it was worth the risk.

It is very tempting to abandon ones dream in order to quiet the naysayers or even to succumb to the doubts you may have had at the start of the dream. Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith and even fail to realize what it is you want to do with the rest of your life.

I wish you all the faith and passion to fulfill your dream(s)!

Be careful out there!

Truth BBQ Michelin star?

From what I've read they got an invitation to the awards ceremony, everybody gets an award that gets an invite, maybe not a star, presentation tonight on Fox covered live at 7p CST.

Three levels of awards:
- up to 3 stars
- recommended (close to star level)
- green star for sustainability

I imagine this will go a long way to resolving a lot of OB arguments, or at least giving the truth supporters a heavy handed fist in the boxing match. Either way, expect longer lines and likely higher prices.

Is this a scam?

My mother has her house listed on the market for sale. She's still living in it, but it has the "For Sale" sign planted in the yard.

While she was home, she started hearing some noise on the roof and went outside, and there was a guy setting up a ladder to go on the roof. My mom asked what he was doing, and he told her that he was there to install a new roof. My mom then told him she isn't getting a new roof and asked him to leave. The guy started being a little agitated/pushy about the situation, and started showing my mom pictures of her house from his phone, as if he was contracted for a job there.

At that point two male neighbors were nearby and she asked for their help to get the roofer to leave. They talked with the roofer for a little bit and he claims that he was scammed and then he leaves.

I looked up roofing scams online, and most of them seem to revolve around storm chasing, but my mom's house/neighborhood haven't had any storms in a while.

Has anyone had this happen, or know what the guy may have been trying to pull?

Liberals and Abortion

Since the Supreme Court's decision on Roe v Wade was handed down, the Democratic Party had a president in the White House for 4 years under Carter, 8 years under Clinton, 8 years under Obama and 4 years under Biden. They also controlled both the House and Senate on multiple occasions during those administrations.

And yet, not once have they tried to enact legislation to make abortion the law of the land.

Why is that?

Question on selling antiques/art

Very random, I know. But this weekend we moved my mother-in-law into a house much closer to us.

She has a BUNCH of stuff (crap?) that her family acquired a long time ago when her grandfather ran an antique store. Most of it is just sitting in closets and she wants to get rid of some of the clutter and sell a lot of it. She's had some of the art appraised previously but we have no clue where to go to sell it. She has other things like statues and stuff that are valued at several thousands of dollars based off a quick google lense search.

Anyone know of a relatively simple method of getting this stuff appraised, and then getting rid of it?

Granddaughter Admitted to Texas

After two of my grandkids have graduated from A&M, my youngest granddaughter just texted me that she was auto-admitted to The University of Texas. Needless to say I am very proud that she has that option since my wife and I are Texas graduates. One of my proudest grandparent moments was several weeks ago when she asked me to drive her in her high school homecoming parade as a candidate for Home Coming Queen. I rented a Mercedes convertible and drove her in the parade. She was crowned Home Coming Queen at their football game! She is also a 2 year Captain of her Legacy Drill Team. Forgive me for being a proud grandparent!

My grandfather/POW

I found this out a few weeks ago but wanted to share this on Veterans Day.

I knew my Grandfather Joe Edgar Rodgers was in the Army and died when I was three years old.

What I didn’t know that he was wounded at the Battle of Bataan and won a Purple Heart among many awards after being a POW for 3.5 years during World War II.

The American and Filipino POW’s were tortured by the Japanese and I could only imagine what my Grandfather went through.

I would have loved to have spent time with him later in life.

Thank you to my late grandfather and the sacrifice he gave his country.
