Great visit overall. Pretty much down to Texas and Michigan although schools like Alabama and Georgia are also showing interest. No other visits at this point.

I like Texas’ position coming out of the weekend but he wants to go home and talk things over with family to collect his thoughts.

3. SELMAN BRIDGES - Freshman Cornerback:

Bridges is a four-star cornerback recruit out of Temple, Texas, and he's logged just 10 defensive snaps this season, all of which came in the opener against UAPB. Bridges has appeared in six games on special teams, which means he isn't eligible to redshirt anymore.

Sam Pittman was asked if there was any chance of Selman Bridges would see the field, given the struggles in the secondary.

"Well, there’s certainly a chance of that, yes," Pittman said regarding Bridges getting some action. "I think we have to look at all things. How we’re coaching it. The coverages that we’re playing. The people that we’re asking to play those coverages, and we certainly have given that a good look and have made some changes there to see if we can get better. Selman’s certainly one of the guys in that thought process, as well. He’s done really a good job out there, and we’ll see what happens there, but he certainly has improved greatly this camp."

I really do. Total control of the government. And we’ll see how well Today’s Republican Party governs. I will be interested to see:

— how does the party handle total fiscal control? Taxes? Social Security? Defense Spending? Debt limits?

— Does Congress finally rescind the affordable Care Act?

— What sort of Border legislation gets passed?

Other things I am curious to see is whether the U.S. pulls out of NATO?

Does the U.S. cut off Ukraine funding?

Will Trump impose tariffs?

What will be the U.S.’ position on the Gaza War?

I hope the country does well. We will see.

Have you ever had a dream to do something you are passionate about only to have someone or several people in your sphere of influence tell you that you “can’t” to it? Maybe they told you it will “never work” or you aren’t talented enough to make it successful. Perhaps they gave you a list of reasons why it wouldn’t work.

I’ve had this happen to me a few times growing up. I’ve had parents, friends, school peers, even my wife try to tell me to not go for what I thought I could do.

What I have found is most, if not all of these people, either was very risk adverse or they had fear rule their thinking.

I didn’t ignore their “advice”, I chose to weigh the risks vs. the reward and decided it was worth the risk.

It is very tempting to abandon ones dream in order to quiet the naysayers or even to succumb to the doubts you may have had at the start of the dream. Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith and even fail to realize what it is you want to do with the rest of your life.

I wish you all the faith and passion to fulfill your dream(s)!

From what I've read they got an invitation to the awards ceremony, everybody gets an award that gets an invite, maybe not a star, presentation tonight on Fox covered live at 7p CST.

Three levels of awards:
- up to 3 stars
- recommended (close to star level)
- green star for sustainability

I imagine this will go a long way to resolving a lot of OB arguments, or at least giving the truth supporters a heavy handed fist in the boxing match. Either way, expect longer lines and likely higher prices.

My mother has her house listed on the market for sale. She's still living in it, but it has the "For Sale" sign planted in the yard.

While she was home, she started hearing some noise on the roof and went outside, and there was a guy setting up a ladder to go on the roof. My mom asked what he was doing, and he told her that he was there to install a new roof. My mom then told him she isn't getting a new roof and asked him to leave. The guy started being a little agitated/pushy about the situation, and started showing my mom pictures of her house from his phone, as if he was contracted for a job there.

At that point two male neighbors were nearby and she asked for their help to get the roofer to leave. They talked with the roofer for a little bit and he claims that he was scammed and then he leaves.

I looked up roofing scams online, and most of them seem to revolve around storm chasing, but my mom's house/neighborhood haven't had any storms in a while.

Has anyone had this happen, or know what the guy may have been trying to pull?

Since the Supreme Court's decision on Roe v Wade was handed down, the Democratic Party had a president in the White House for 4 years under Carter, 8 years under Clinton, 8 years under Obama and 4 years under Biden. They also controlled both the House and Senate on multiple occasions during those administrations.

And yet, not once have they tried to enact legislation to make abortion the law of the land.

Why is that?

BYU trailing 21-10 at half. If they lose, Boise St would be the 4th highest rated conference champ, based on current standings. BYU, Colorado or Army would be #12. Could the Big 12 get left out?

We all know it's a tight race between our liberal brothers for biggest loser this election cycle.

So in the tradition of "Defending Democracy" let's put it to a vote.

Very random, I know. But this weekend we moved my mother-in-law into a house much closer to us.

She has a BUNCH of stuff (crap?) that her family acquired a long time ago when her grandfather ran an antique store. Most of it is just sitting in closets and she wants to get rid of some of the clutter and sell a lot of it. She's had some of the art appraised previously but we have no clue where to go to sell it. She has other things like statues and stuff that are valued at several thousands of dollars based off a quick google lense search.

Anyone know of a relatively simple method of getting this stuff appraised, and then getting rid of it?

I just do. I would never vote for him. But at least he's got a spine and is clear on where he stands.

After two of my grandkids have graduated from A&M, my youngest granddaughter just texted me that she was auto-admitted to The University of Texas. Needless to say I am very proud that she has that option since my wife and I are Texas graduates. One of my proudest grandparent moments was several weeks ago when she asked me to drive her in her high school homecoming parade as a candidate for Home Coming Queen. I rented a Mercedes convertible and drove her in the parade. She was crowned Home Coming Queen at their football game! She is also a 2 year Captain of her Legacy Drill Team. Forgive me for being a proud grandparent!

I found this out a few weeks ago but wanted to share this on Veterans Day.

I knew my Grandfather Joe Edgar Rodgers was in the Army and died when I was three years old.

What I didn’t know that he was wounded at the Battle of Bataan and won a Purple Heart among many awards after being a POW for 3.5 years during World War II.

The American and Filipino POW’s were tortured by the Japanese and I could only imagine what my Grandfather went through.

I would have loved to have spent time with him later in life.

Thank you to my late grandfather and the sacrifice he gave his country.
