Dekaney wide receiver Tanook Hines is a player that’s been on the Texas Longhorns’ radar for some time. In late January, Hines made his way for Austin for a UT junior day, and the talented pass-catcher said he enjoyed the experience overall.

“What stood out was really just the experience, how they’re all for the team,” Hines said. “We went to the basketball game and there were a lot of fans saying ‘be a Longhorn,’ things like that. The coaches showed a lot of love too.”

With more than 30 scholarship offers, Hines is pretty open at this stage of the recruiting process. When he does officially narrow his focus, expect Texas to make the cut.

“I actually have a really long list now but Texas is up there, top 10,” Hines said.

The 6-1, 170-pound Hines has fielded offers from schools like Texas, Alabama, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and USC, to name but a few. He feels his versatility and effort away from the ball are two of his biggest strengths.

“First and foremost, I think I’m a great receiver all-around. I can catch a screen, get active and in a little bit of space make a big play,” Hines said. “I make difficult catches, am a good teammate and I’m the best blocker you know.”

Along with Texas, Hines visited Baylor and Texas A&M prior to the ongoing dead period. As for the Longhorns, Hines said there’s a lot to like about the UT program.

“I grew up watching Earl Campbell stuff, so it’s always been a big school to me,” Hines said. “Coming up here, seeing all the players and how they play, they remind me of myself how they play. I love the offense. Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Worthy – they just have playmakers.”

Hines is ranked as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com.

Those in recovery find the strength to reach their full potential as members of a community, learning for perhaps the first time to ask for and accept real help, and to express genuine gratitude.

We can all learn from this model. As we continue to grow and develop in our lives, we will get help from others, and we'll help them too. We'll have ample reason and opportunity to express gratitude, as we realize that we're not in this deal alone, nor should we be. I've seen several "power rankings" and there seems to be consensus that Texas will play 5 conference games against the bottom 5 teams. As an example, Josh Pate has our SEC schedule looking like this: #1 Georgia, #5 OU, #8 A&M, #12 UK, #13 Florida, #14 Arkansas, #15 Miss St, #16 Vandy. We need to play our best ball every week because we know EVERYBODY will be keyed up to try and knock us off.

In Orlando for the FEMALE flag football national championship. My daughter’s organization qualified for the 14U and 17U competition by winning regional tournaments. These are ALL GIRL teams with BOYS on them. This isn’t an individual non-contact sport like swimming or sprinting. It’s a team sport where bodies often collide with each other (sometimes viloently) and severe impact injuries happen. These girls run and jump in close proximity and go up to make contested catches that at time result in one person landing on another. We now have 15, 16, 17 and 18 year old boys competing with girls is such a sport?

Seriously, WTF are we doing America? How can we support this?

Per article losses could be greater than sub-prime crisis.

The banking worries in the US this week were triggered by:

• New York Community Bancorp cutting its dividend on higher capital rules and commercial strain
• A Japanese bank reporting unexpected losses on US commercial real estate
• Deutsche Bank highlighting losses on US commercial real estate

Despite all the economic data this week, it was those headlines that left US 10-year yields 14 basis points lower on the week.

There are echos of subprime here as no one really knows the size of the problem, who is holding the losses and how it could be managed. What's clear is that office real estate is severely impaired because of work-from-home changes following the pandemic. Vacancies are high and tenants have incredible leverage in asking for lower rents.

Banking rules require taking impairments once losses are reasonably foreseeable but that hasn't really happened yet, in part because it's still not clear how many workers will be called back to the office and how many companies will move out.

Under any circumstances, it's fair to say that losses will be high. How high? Goldman Sachs estimates $1.2 trillion of commercial mortgages are scheduled to mature this year and next, or about a quarter of all outstanding commercial mortgages, and the highest recorded level going back to 2008.

The biggest single holders are banks with a 40% share. Other estimates put the "maturity wall" as high as $1.5 trillion, according to Reuters.

"The office market has an existential crisis right now," Barry Sternlicht, CEO of Starwood Capital Group ($115b AUM) told the Global Alts conference. "It's a $3 trillion asset class that is probably worth $1.8 trillion. There's $1.2 trillion of losses spread somewhere, and nobody knows exactly where it all is."

To illustrate, the entire size of the subprime US mortgage market in 2007 was $1.3 trillion.

There are two things that make this a particularly precarious situation:

• Small/regional banks hold much of the losses and they don't have the ability to take much pain
• Due to hold-to-maturity bond market losses, raising new capital is prohibitively expensive and in many cases, impossible

There's a reason the bond market got very skittish, very quickly this week.

First time trying to post a video so bear with me.

Bought an f150 Lightning Platinum a week ago yesterday. Haven’t gotten it yet, but they gave me a lariat Lightning with the extended range battery to drive until mine is ready.

I have another F150 platinum with the 5.0 v8. It has the 6 1/2 foot bed vs the 5.5 bed in the lightning. I am keeping it for longer trips, and hauling bikes. The lightning will just be used locally, within 150 miles or so of my house. Thats 95% of my driving

Getting an 80 amp charging station installed at my house Monday. Haven’t charged the lariat yet but am headed a supercharger this am. Once my station is installed, all charging will be from home. Probably install the reverse panel later, where I can use the truck to power my home if the electricity goes out

The lightning is better than the 5.0 in every way except range and refuel time. It’s fast as hell, and handles really good with a 50/50 weight distribution vs 65/35 for the 5.0 and all the weight carried low. It more than offsets the additional weight of the batteries.

It’s weird to drive with the one pedal regeneration. You barely use the brakes. You get used to it, but it’s definitely different. Brakes should last a loooong time.

It’s super quiet and great for listening to tunes.

The Awd is far superior to the 4WD in the gas truck. I have driven it in rain and it gets far better traction than my 5.0. It puts the power to the wheels where there is traction, and the above mentioned weight distribution is a big positive.

The frunk is awesome. One thing I always missed driving a truck was having a trunk. Not any more.

Haven’t towed with it yet, but I bet it’s better there too, with almost twice as much torque, always available.

I doubt I drive the gas truck much unless it’s a longer trip. The lightning is better in every way around town and it’s more fun to drive, not to mention less maintenance and more economical. The gas truck will probably sit in the garage most of the time. Ironically, I will probably need to keep a battery charger on it.

I would not want one as my only ride, but if you have more than one car in the family, one should definitely be an EV IMO. They are really cool to drive, and more practical around town. And that’s coming from someone who loves the sound of a V8 and misses the smell of leaded gas.

Didn’t know they had someone with this kinda scratch to burn.
