Well, if was the West Virginia coach I would be mad

And say hell no!

Things to ponder using the ESPN Match-Up projector.

Obviously the ESPN Match-Up predictor is not infallible, but here is what you get using it through the first 12 games (prior to the Conference Championship games; ranked using my best-guess projection).

1 Oregon 12-0
2 Ohio State 11-1
3 Miami 12-0
4 Texas 11-1
5 Penn State 11-1
6 BYU 12-0
7 Notre Dame 11-1
8 Indiana 11-1 (with a future loss to Ohio State)9 Alabama 10-2
9 Alabama 10-2
10 Mississippi 10-2
11 Georgia 10-2 (with a future loss to Mississippi)
12 Tennessee 10-2 (with a future loss to Georgia)
13 Boise State 11-1

Other teams of interest.

14 SMU 11-1
15 Iowa State 11-1
16 Washington State 11-1
17+ LSU 9-3 (with a future loss to Alabama)
17+ Texas A&M 9-3 (with a future loss to Texas)
17+ Army 11-1 (with a future loss to Notre Dame)

Six teams tie for second-place in the SEC. I don’t know who “wins” the tiebreaker to play Texas in the SEC championship game.

Boise State will need to win its conference championship game to stay ahead of Army, and maybe also Washington State. Washington State could be ranked higher than 16th, but I don’t think they can break into the top 11, and I don’t know if they qualify for the highest-rated-non-P4-conference-champion-slot even if Boise State loses.

Ricky + Weed = Heisman

Former Texas running back and Heisman-winner told the OG’s Podcast that his first 300-yard game was fueled by marijuana use.

"And my roommate was like, 'You need to chill,' and he was a smoker, so he slid his bong over, and I took two hits, coughed and went upstairs," Williams said. "It was the first time in two weeks I wasn’t obsessed about all the bad stuff and my mind started thinking about: 'Ok, we have practice tomorrow.' I had a wonderful week of practice and that next game, I think I had 312 yards, and the following, I had 350. I was back in the Heisman race."
That included a 318-yard, six-touchdown performance against Rice and a 350-yard, 5-touchdown performance against Iowa State, according to ESPN. Williams' 350-yard game remains the school record for most rushing yards in a single game, and 20th all-time in the NCAA.
Marijuana had helped the young running back focus and became a part of his routine. Every day, Williams said, he’d smoke when he came home from practice, but not enough to trigger a positive drug test. He did fail once, but it didn’t become a problem until he started his NFL career, where his repeatedly failed drug tests resulted in serving multiple suspensions.

Harris judgement

We don’t know exactly where this imbecile stands on issues lately since she’s changed her position on seemingly everything. We can surmise most of the positions she’s changed is mere lip service. She won’t even answer how she’s voted on a proposition in California that would reverse her radical and destructive policy of knocking down felony crimes to minor misdemeanors. Let’s take a a look at an area where we do know her judgment and how she’s views character. Let’s look at the men she’s tied herself and career to the last 30 years.

Willy Brown, serial adulterer and hated mayor. She became his mistress in exchange for political appointments to jobs for which she was wholly unqualified. Yet for personal gain she was willing to be this married man’s whore.

Joe Biden low iq, low character imbecile who’s best friend was former kkk wizard Robert Byrd. Kamala referred to Joe as a racist and rapist in the 2019 debate. A man who showers with his teenage daughter. Yet, she set all that aside in her quest for power. Proving again she has low character, no commitment to any principle, and will do anything including her coup against Joe for power.

Her current husband is a woman beater and cheater who knocked up the nanny and forced her to kill the baby. Lovely. Again, poor character and poor judgement.

Tim Walz good lord. One of the absolute most radical lunatics in modern politics who had an affair with a chicom while on one of his many trips to china. A man who has stolen valor, pooned out on his service and directly his troops and continued to lie about fighting for his country. Once again, low character shitbag Kamala has tied herself to in her never ending quest for power.

This is the kind of judgment she exhibits. She simply cannot be trusted with nuclear codes. Look at her strategic judgment on the Afghanistan withdrawal. The examples of incompetence and horrific judgement and failure are endless. 42 billion she was out in charge of managing for internet connection. She’s produced not one connection. 8 billion for ev charges. 8 installed to date. This woman is a failure at everything she does.

Hopefully tomorrow she’s relegated to nothing more than a mere blight and footnoted stain on history never to be heard from again.

Covert Thoughts: No.2 vs. No.3 at the end of the season for everything?

Every week during the season, the Orangebloods staff will release an updated SEC Power Rankings that reveals the state of the conference in our eyes. All teams are ranked 1-16, with the first-place team receiving 16 points and the last place team receiving 1 point.

Let's take a look at how things look going into week 10.

1. Georgia (6) 96 points (Last week: 1st)

Highest ranking: 1st (Unanimous) Lowest ranking: 1st (Unanimous)

It seems crazy to think that it wasn't that long ago that Georgia wasn't even in the top two of the power rankings. Now the Dawgs are the default setting.

2. Texas - 89 points (Last week: 2nd)

Highest ranking: 2nd (almost everyone) Lowest ranking: 3rd (Jason)

That's right, @Suchomel has the Aggies ranked higher than the Longhorns. I say we stone him for taking a vacation to the beach...er... that act of voting betrayal.

3. Texas A&M - 83 points (Last week: 5th)

Highest ranking: 2nd (Jason) Lowest ranking: 4th (Geoff/Alex)

The Aggies have really only beaten one good team this year, but is that more than the Longhorns?

4. Tennessee - 80 points (Last week: 4th)

Highest ranking: 3rd (Geoff/Alex) Lowest ranking: 5th (Jason/Cody.TravisAnwar)

The Vols are just kind of hanging around. They will almost certainly finish 10-2 this season and land somewhere in the 12-team playoff.

5. Alabama - 64 points (Last week: 7th)

Highest ranking: 5th (Geoff/Alex) Lowest ranking: 9th (Travis)

I was a little surprised to see that TRavis has the Tide behind teams like Arkansas and Ole Miss.

6. LSU 62 points (Last week 3rd)

Highest ranking: 5th (Anwar) Lowest ranking: 9th (Jason)

I'm not sure any of us really know what to do with the Tigers.

7. Vanderbilt - 61 points (Last week: 6th)

Highest ranking: 5th (Jason/Cody/Travis) Lowest ranking: 10th (Alex)

Somehow Vandy only lost a single vote from last week's poll, slipping from 62 total points to 61 points. They will continue to fall.

8. Ole Miss - 58 points (Last week: 8th)

Highest ranking: 6th (Jason/Alex) Lowest ranking: 8th (Geoff/Cody/Travis/Anwar)

Holding steady...

9. South Carolina 46 points (Last week: 9th)

Highest ranking: 7th (Geoff) Lowest ranking: 11th (Travis)

Maybe I've got the Cocks too high, but Travis' 11th place rankings feels too low. I think they beat the Aggies this weekend.

10. Arkansas 45 points (Last week: 11th)

Highest ranking: 8th (Alex) Lowest ranking: 12th (Travis.Anwar)

Are sleeping on the Hawgs? Or is this just right?

11. Florida 37 points (Last week: 12th)

Highest ranking: 10th (Travis/Cody) Lowest ranking: 12th (Geoff/Alex)

In DJ Lagway, the Gators must continue to trust.

12. Missouri - 35 points (Last week: 10th)

Highest ranking: 9th (Alex) Lowest ranking: 12th (Jason/Travis/Anwar)

What a bust of a season for this group.

13. Oklahoma 21 points (Last week: 14th)

Highest ranking: 13th (Jason/Geoff/Travis/Alex) Lowest ranking: 15th (Cody)

It feels like this is the ceiling for the Sooners...

14. Auburn 19 points (Last week: 15th)

Highest ranking: 13th (Travis/Alex) Lowest ranking: 15th (Cody)

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

15. Kentucky 14 points (Last week: 13th)

Highest ranking: 14th (Geoff/Cody Lowest ranking: 15th (Jason/Travis/Anwar/Alex)

What does it say about the SEC that 2 of the best defenses in the conference are in the bottom four of the league?

16. Miss State 6 points (Last week: No.16)

Highest ranking: 16th (Unanimous) Lowest ranking: 16th (Unanimous)
