Latest Athletic Mock Draft - 3 first rounders

https://theathletic.com/5314966/202...iels-quarterbacks/?source=user_shared_article

Seems pretty accurate and realistic for our guys , post combine. I’m still surprised people like Georgia WR Mcconkey over Worthy - I’m taking X all day . I can see their point about AD - at times he seems lackadaisical , ie blocking etc

18. Cincinnati Bengals: Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

Right tackle feels like the most likely option for the Bengals, but — as happened here with five OTs off the board early — what happens if their targeted options get wiped out? I think the focus then would shift to defensive tackle, and Murphy would be a great fit for what Cincinnati likes at the position. He is terrific against the run and relentless to the quarterback.

24. Buffalo Bills (from DAL)*: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

Projected trade: Bills send No. 28 and No. 99 to the Cowboys for No. 24 and No. 213

I am not 100 percent sold on Mitchell being a culture fit for Buffalo.

General manager Brandon Beane wants super competitive players, and Mitchell showed flashes of that, along with the talent to become a top-15 receiver in the NFL. Based on talent and skill level, Mitchell would be an upgrade at receiver — but how he interviews will determine everything. Beane will never be shy trading up for a player he thinks can be a difference-maker.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

Oh sure, the fastest man in combine history falls to the back-to-back Super Bowl champs. Worthy will be a really interesting test case, because the speed is special and it shows up on tape, but he was 165 pounds at the combine — and that number will scare off some teams. However, if he lasts all the way to pick No. 32, Red Raiders (like QB Patrick Mahomes) and Longhorns will learn to get along in Kansas City.

Coaching Your Kids Sports Team

My background I played for the Region Soccer team and was a preferred walk on at SMU. Top 72 players in the country.

I have been coaching my daughter’s team for two years. She is finally listening to my instruction and is thriving. She scored two goals today due to doing what I instructed. The light has turned on and I feel she is about to be an amazing player.

Took so much for her to do what I asked and so glad she is now listening and is dominating.

What are yalls experiences coaching your kid and any advice would be great. I am trying to not be so hard and on her.

Side note: We have a great squad and are beating top teams in the state only being D2.

Biden ADMITS Secretly Flying Migrants Into Country?

If true, it would mean that while record numbers of migrants were flowing over the southern border last year, the Biden White House was also directly transporting them into the country. Brilliant.

Question for anyone but…..

I’m especially interested in what @deronjohn and @Denz Washington think.
My friend (who happens to be black) is saying Michael Jordan is not the GOAT because he was not politically active like LeBron, Bill Russell etc. I and a couple white guys and a couple black guys are saying him being the GOAT has nothing to do with political activism and he’s pissed. I’m interested in your thoughts on it.

Texas BASEBALL - Rounding the Bases

MUSINGS FROM THE DISCH:

What a weekend...woof! In each one of the games, the Horns found a way to lose. Against LSU, they struck out at a proliferate rate, especially against some outstanding sliders by Luke Holman (#1 in the nation in many pitching categories). Against Texas State, they gave up the grand slam early and had to battle back, only to run out of steam late in the game. Love the fight back, but the lack of starting pitching put way too much pressure on the back end guys. Against Vandy, the offense got it going early on, only to fall quiet in the last 5 frames and the bullpen couldn't hold on.

Extremely frustrating yes, but that is baseball sometimes, especially college or amateur baseball. End of the world? No. Concerning? Absolutely. For the last couple of years, going back to 2021, the Horns have had solid front line pitching but often times did not have that lock down closer who could come in and slam the door. That appears to be the case again in 2024 and even more concerning, the starters have not been going deep into games.

For Lebarron Johnson Jr, I am the least concerned with him. Jay Johnson stated after the game that they have been watching film and prepping for him since last season when he was the first and really only pitcher in the nation to shut down the Tiger offense. They had a game plan, stuck to it and it paid off. There is a reason why Coach Johnson is so highly thought of from the offensive side. Charlie Hurley continues to remain enigmatic as he can look really good and then absolutely fall apart in the time span of an inning. For him, consistency remains the biggest issue that he has to solve for. With Cody Howard, it comes down to efficiency and staying ahead in the count. When Howard fell behind, he has to rely on his fastball more, whereas if he gets ahead, he can utilize his slider more as an out pitch, working it away from the batter to get soft or no contact.

The going does not get any easier for the Horns. A Tuesday night game against arch rival and #7 Texas A&M, who also happens to be undefeated is in on tap. The focus immediately after that turns to the Big 12 conference opening series in Lubbock against #17 Texas Tech.

The Horns have to take this past weekend at Minute Maid and utilize it as a learning experience.

OT: Any OB Landmen out there ... need some advice

My mother-in-law is looking to hire a Landman to do some work for her in Oklahoma and she wants me to take the lead. I'm not even sure where to begin, but are there any Landmen on OB that could maybe answer a few questions and point me in the right direction?

Feel free to email me if it's easier to communicate that way and I can fill in more details: jason@orangebloods.com

Can somebody explain…….

What in the hell is Texas BB infected with, that prevents us from scoring the basketball in the 2nd half of games……l

…….. I mean, like, AT ALL.

We went something like 8 or 9 minutes in the 2nd half tonight without a bucket. And I swear to God it felt like we didn’t score a single point after the half.

I have watched Texas BB for 20 years now, and we just seem to do this without fail. Coaching doesn’t seem to matter, players don’t matter, whatever is on the line doesn’t matter.

We just let pissant Baylor have their stupid little moment tonight after dominating the 1st half

I am so tired of this bullshit. Somebody tell me…. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM

5-star Michael Fasusi updates visit plans, talks relationship with Kyle Flood

52881856737_8c5c758087_c.jpg

Lewisville offensive tackle Michael Fasusi is one of the country’s top overall prospects, and he’s not one to shy away from competition. A lot of five-star players try to avoid the camp circuit due to fear of losing their lofty ranking, but that’s not Fasusi’s style. He’ll be at the Under Armour Next camp next weekend, where he’ll likely turn in his usual dominant performance.

For Fasusi, who checks in at No. 11 on the Rivals100, it’s set to be a busy spring.

“I’ve got some visits coming up. I’ve got Mizzou next weekend, LSU coming up, A&M, Texas, Oregon, Oklahoma and I’ve got Colorado last right now,” Fasusi said of March and April visits.

The Longhorns will host the 6-5, 284-pound Fasusi on April 9, and Texas will get Fasusi back on campus the weekend of June 21 for an official visit. As of now, that’s the only official visit Fasusi has set up, but that will likely change in the near future. Along with Texas, Fasusi said he’ll for sure take official visits to Missouri, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

Fasusi has been a priority target for Texas ever since picking up a UT scholarship offer way back in February of last year. He didn’t take his first Texas visit until May of last year, but has been a regular visitor to the Forty Acres ever since. Fasusi and Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood have developed a strong bond, and that’s a big part of what keeps him returning to Austin so often.

“Coach Flood, everything is good with coach Flood,” Fasusi said. “We’re just on a path to developing our relationship. I’d say we’re on a good path with that. Everything is going smooth for sure.

“When it comes to the coaching part, he’s probably one of best coaches I know. He speaks facts, knows what he’s doing. That’s what I like about him.”

Fasusi isn’t on a rigid timeline, but if things go well he’d like to have a commitment sometime this summer.

“That’s the plan right now, to commit before the season starts,” Fasusi said.
