First Year in the SEC Looking Good

IF TRUE ....

LSU WR charged with betting on LSU games while a player. Chances are he wasn't the only one on the team involved. The last thing LSU wants is the authorities investigating their program. IF TRUE --- LSU could be in trouble. Alabama has already circled the drain. A&M is starting over. Things are looking good for UT's first year in the SEC!

I have a feeling that gambling by athletes is more widespread than we want to believe.

SIAP: weird incident at a comedy club

Comedian Mark Normand was rushed off the stage after a very bizarre incident involving an audience member. The whole situation gets even weirder when an apparent employee of the comedy club (I think) as well as a producer get on stage and give absolutely no context or information as to whether audience members should be concerned for their own safety.

Honestly just a hilarious situation overall but I’m super interested in what actually happened💀

Who pulls the strings for the parties and politicians?

I'm an election judge and former state delegate. I dropped out of my former party due to the way it was run.

Looking at the other party, they have the same problems. Specifically, they are both run by "men behind the curtain" who control who runs, who gets funding, and what they vote for once elected.

If you look at both parties, you can't help but wonder who are the men behind the curtain?

And are the same people behind both parties?

This recent story, see short video below, threatens to pull back the curtain on the gop string pullers.

It needs to be investigated. But the press won't do it. The doj won't do it. The FBI won't do it. Congress won't do it. Who will? No one?

Until these people are revealed and stopped, we're living in a false democracy.

[Edit I see another old thread on related topics, but might be missed. This is more to the point, so I'll leave this up]

HVAC Profession/Trade

I’m strongly considering a career change and to a trade. I’ve done a bunch of reading on all sorts of trades and I’m definitely most interested in HVAC.

Essentially I am looking for feedback/information on how to get started. I’ve contacted quite a several local companies about their recommendation and the response has been pretty mixed. Some places dont recommend attending a trade school and others seem to think it may help offering a base of knowledge. A common theme was to acquire and the EPA 608 (which was my intent to begin with).

Background - USMC vet, bachelors and I have worked in corrections the last 8 years.

Any suggestions/feedback would be much appreciated! TIA

OT: Denver Area Opinions

OBs-

I may have an opportunity to move up to the Denver area to take a pretty good job. Who lives there or has lived there and what do you think about it? We have 2 younger kids so would be interested in a more family oriented area. We could potentially live out toward the foothills as well. Just looking for any and all opinions good or bad. Thanks!

Calling a bro “The Rizzler”

Ok so there is this new guy who has been to a few wolf pack functions lately as a guest. In general he seems like a Hoss who scores with chicks and likes to PIIHB. Hates aggy and has circulated some epic Taylor Swift hater memes. Not a bad resume on paper.

Butt here is the problem bro: he goes by “The Rizzler.” Like that is the only name he uses in social settings, and even has a business card with that name and his digits. I literally and figuratively don’t know his real name, and doubt he wood tell if asked. Seems like the kind of guy who’d go to court to get it legally changed.

Anywho, my conclusion is that this guy is a douche. The cool parts just can’t overcome this particular act of buttmunchery. Am I being too harsh bro? My apologies if The Rizzler is an OB member who reads this and has hurt feelings.

The latest Jabbar Muhammad update...

A few notes to pass along...

a. I don't think any white flag is being waved in the recruitment of the ex-Washington cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, but there continues to be a sense that Oregon is taking a "by any means needed" NIL approach in the recruitment of Muhammad and that it could be tough to overcome.

b. I've heard some guesstimates on the NIL money that might be in play and I just don't think the Longhorns will want to completely undo all of the structure that it has created in an attempt to land Muhammad.

c. If the Longhorns don't land Muhammad, expect the search for defensive back support to continue. Whether it ends up being Muhammad or not, I get the sense that there will be a Portal addition in the defensive backfield at this point.

d. I floated the name of Arizona star defensive back Tacario Davis last night to a source and I didn't get the sense that he was automatically the next guy in play if the Longhorns lose out on Muhammad. That doesn't mean that he isn't in play, but I didn't get the sense that he's definitely on deck.

Hader to the Stros

Huge get for Houston. Much needed arm in a depleted BP.

The Houston Astros and left-handed reliever Josh Hader are in agreement on a five-year, $95 million deal, a league source confirmed.

Hader’s deal contains a full no-trade clause and no deferred money, according to a league source. It will pay Hader $19 million from 2024 through 2028, making it a record valuation for a closer given there are no deferrals. There are also no opt-outs or club options in the deal, per a league source.

The 29-year-old lefty was the best available reliever in this free agent class, and is coming off a season in which he posted a 1.28 ERA over 56 1/3 innings for the Padres. Hader has been one of the game’s premier closers both in San Diego and with the Brewers over the last six years.

Vince McMahon - Sex Trafficker

Is anyone surprised that he is a scumbag?

Lesnar comes off as a douche as well. I doubt the WWE can book him again.

The lawsuit, filed in a Connecticut federal court, describes in graphic detail Grant’s account of interactions with the businessman and TV personality. She alleged that McMahon and another WWE executive locked her in an office in WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Conn., on June 15, 2021, and took turns sexually assaulting her while other staff were working.

In the middle of another workday, on June 23, 2021, McMahon locked Grant inside his private locker room at WWE’s offices and forced himself on her over a massage table, the suit said. Later that day, McMahon’s personal assistant delivered $15,000 in Bloomingdale’s gift cards to Grant in her office.

The suit also includes screenshots of explicit text messages that McMahon allegedly sent to Grant. A May 2020 message said: “i’m the only one who owns U and controls who I want to f— U.”

Grant alleged that McMahon shared nude photos and explicit videos of her without consent with other WWE employees, unnamed executives and stars, and directed her to have sex with them. The suit cited a July 2020 text that said others at WWE wanted to have sex with her after seeing photos on McMahon’s phone, and the group laughed when he told them, “She may scream and try to say NO!!although it would B difficult to say anything with a c— down her throat.”
...
In March 2020, McMahon began sharing sexually explicit photographs and videos of Grant with other men, including other WWE executives and a former UFC heavyweight champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract, according to the suit. In a May 2020 encounter, McMahon defecated on her head during a threesome, the suit said.

...

McMahon controlled her professional and personal lives and subjected her to degradation, according to the suit. In the June 2021 encounter inside the WWE office, the suit said McMahon and Laurinaitis forced themselves on her and took turns restraining her for the other, while saying “No means yes” and “Take it, b—.”

...

In July 2021, the suit said, McMahon instructed Grant to create personalized sexual content for a WWE superstar that he was trying to re-sign. The suit didn’t name the professional wrestler, but described him as both a UFC fighter and WWE talent. People familiar with the matter identified the wrestler as Brock Lesnar, one of WWE’s biggest names.

Lesnar didn’t respond Thursday to requests for comment.

The suit said McMahon shared the explicit photos with the star and informed Grant that “he likes what he sees.” After the star agreed to a new WWE contract, McMahon texted Grant in August 2021 to say “that part of the deal was f—ing U.”

OT: Prayers for my Mom

***Update***

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers 💙 Our Mom is still in the hospital and seems to be doing better 🙏🙌

She had an endoscopy yesterday, a blood transfusion, and a colonoscopy today. We are hoping to get more information from the GI doctor tomorrow for more information on her procedure today. The good news is they didn't find any tears or hemorrhages which is good. We mainly want to determine what else could be causing the low hemoglobin levels.

My brother drove down from Missouri to help out the rest of the week, and it appears she may get to go back home tomorrow. God is good!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please keep my 81-year-old Mother in your prayers. She started feeling bad late Friday evening through Saturday. I drove up to Copperas Cove to take her to the ER to get checked out. They think she either has a bleeding ulcer or a small tear in her GI tract. She is being kept overnight and will consult the gastroenterologist in the morning. She has been in really good health for 81. This is the first time we have had to take her to the ER for anything since our Dad passed in 2017 from Parkinson's Disease. The staff at Seton in Harker Heights have taken great care of her today 🙏💙
