I was told that Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian is moving closer towards hiring a new defensive line coach. One person told me the search/interviews could be done by the end of this week.

We know Rod Wright was a candidate to join the Longhorns but he decided to remain with the Houston Texans.

Of course, that leads to the obvious question.

Who is the guy?

Sarkisian is like the Godfather right now after informing Fredo to never take sides against the family. Those close to the situation are keeping that to themselves at this moment.

However, I will keep digging.

In the meantime, is anyone willing to start my car tomorrow morning?

Was working for a small synthetic sling manufacturing company in Stafford TX where delivering an entire safety program was needed. The goal was accomplished then a private equity firm bought us from our corporate conglomeration and decided the position was no longer needed.
So here I am looking for work in the safety field, if anyone here knows of, or has any openings, I would appreciate a chance to apply. 17 years experience in safety with 10 in the O&G field and 7 in a manufacturing facility.

In light of @Ketchum post about Rod Wright looking like a No Go, Imam wondering where Texas might look at this stage in the coaching carousel. I would start again with Roach but assuming he is locked in at Bama Who you got?

I would kick the tires on Kelvin Bell at Iowa, Mike Eliston, Tim Cross at UNC. Do you take another look at Brick Haley? I have no idea what is even practical at this stage? What says OB?

Tight end Kiotti Armstrong is one of the top players in the country as a Rivals100 member, but he’s been taking the recruiting process pretty slowly. Last weekend, the Jasper product made his way to Austin to get his first in-person look at the Longhorns. Armstrong said it was a good visit overall.

“I liked the environment, how the coaches interact with the players and how they’re just very honest with you,” he said.

While on campus, Armstrong got to sit down with Texas tight ends coach Jeff Banks and head coach Steve Sarkisian. Both told him he’d be a good fit in the UT offense due to Armstrong’s size and versatility.

“It was how I fit the scheme, how I can play off the ball and on the ball, and out wide,” Armstrong said of his talks. “I had a sit down with coach Sarkisian. It was good.”

The 6-5, 246-pound Armstrong also hung out with former Jasper teammate Tyanthony Smith, who committed to Texas in December and enrolled at UT earlier this month. Smith is already working to get Armstrong to join him in Austin.

“He said ‘This is where you need to be.’ Coming from Jasper, he was recruiting me heavily,” Armstrong said.

Armstrong said he doesn’t have a list of favorites right now. He’s continuing to explore all options but is mindful of how the programs recruiting him use the tight end. Texas impressed him in that area with the offense’s usage of Ja’Tavion Sanders last year.

“I just liked the environment and the people. I just like Austin, really,” Armstrong said of Texas. “I don’t really have a ranking right now to be honest. I’m just trying to see everything right now, having fun.”

Armstrong will visit Miami this weekend. Ranked as a four-star prospect, he checks in at No. 64 on the Rivals100.

Singer, Melanie, passed away today. She was a star in the 70’s with Candles in the rain, Brand new key, and look what they did to my song ma. Very unusual artist. Her brand new key was different. Many loved it (I do) but many dispised it. RIP to another 70’s artist.

IMO he is unequivocally THE best DL coach in college football. It was a huge blow when he left ND for Michigan. He's a very good recruiter, but above all he is the best developer of talent in the land. I want him for Texas more than ANY player we could ever get in the portal.

Game MVP: It's either Dylan Disu (19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists) or Max Abmas (22 points and a 3 assists), but I'm going to go with the big fella because took over in the final 10 minutes of the ball game when the Longhorns needed to hitch its wagon to him and let him carry the team to finish line.

Key Stretch: With 11 minutes to go in the game, OU knocked down a pair of free throws to trim what had been a 9-point lead down to one point at 55-54, but from that moment on the Longhorns went on a 19-4 run to run away from the game. Disu was especially critical in this stretch, scoring 9 points (2 for 2 FG, 1 for 1 3pt, 4 for 4 FT and 9 points total) during the stretch.

R-e-b-o-u-n-d-i-n-g: The Longhorns came into tonight's game ranked 13th out of 14 teams in team rebounding, yet the Longhorns dominated the glass all night, finishing with a 40-24 edge on the boards. That's how you win conference games on the road.

Unsung Hero: Sophomore Chendall Weaver came into the game averaging 3.5 points per game and ended up scoring 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting, which compensated for Tyrese Hunter only scoring 5 points. If they could only get something like this every night...

Thing You Need to Know: The Longhorns shot the ball incredibly well, finishing as a team with a 50.0/44.4/83.3 triple-slash line. That's how you win games on the road.

Tracking down History: After moving into 4th place on the NCAA' all-time 3-point shots made list a couple of weeks ago, Max Abmas knocked down 4 of 8 shots from downtown today to move within 23 of third-place Travis Bader (Purdue 2010-14).

ESPN Bracketology: The win over Baylor has the Longhorns firmly back in the bubble conversation and tonight's win will only elevate it on this graphic.

After last night's win Texas moves to 14-5 (3-3) and now have 12 games left. Do they make the tourney if they go 6-6 and finish 20-11 to end the regular season? I think they do. Last 12 games are split 6/6 home/away.

I saw a report that the aggys could cut and run to the Big 10. It said that it's a strong rumor, but something to watch. Two pluses for aggy would be that the Big 10 wouldn't hit them hard with $$ and also that aggy could get away from Texas.

Those aggys with the big SEC decals on their vehicles would need to scraping them off!!🤣
