Would you look past Michigan type scandals if Texas made (or won) the CFP?

Michigan is in the championship against Washington and might win it all (I hope they do since Washington beat Texas). They committed recruiting violations during the Covid dead period and had a more recent sign stealing scandal.

Would you accept those if it meant a national championship? I know most here probably wouldn’t. However, I’d be a contrarian and would overlook them. How would you view such scandals at UT if they got on a run like Michigan?

Instant Analysis: Tech outplays the Longhorns at the Moody Center

Cliffs Notes: Texas Tech took control of the game early in the second half and outplayed the Longhorns over the course of 40 minutes, beating Texas at the Moody Center 78-67 on Saturday night.

The Participants: No. 20/22 Texas (11-3, 0-1 Big 12) and Texas Tech (12-2, 1-0 Big 12)

Pre-Game Ken Pom Rankings: Texas (No. 31) and Texas Tech (No. 38)

Game MVP: The guards on both teams played well, but Tech sophomore Pop Isaacs followed a 23-point performance a year ago in the Moody Center with a game-high 21 points on 7 of 15 shooting tonight. Six of his 21 points came in the final 2:51.

Key Moment: Tyrese Hunter missed two free throws with the Longhorns down by 6 with 3:13 left in the game. Tech followed up those misses with a lay-up and a dunk to push the lead back to 10 points. The game was essentially over.

Cold Stretch No. 1: Following a Dylan Disu lay-up that cut Tech's lead to 52-51 with 12:06 left in the game, Tech went on a 9-1 run over a 3:33 stretch to make it 61-52 before a Max Abmas three-point shot ended the run with 8:31 left. The Longhorns were never able to cut the lead below five points the rest of the night.

Cold Stretch No. 2 The Longhorns went 4 minutes without scoring in the first half, which saw a Texas 17-10 lead turn into Tech taking a 20-17 lead during that stretch. Overall, the Longhorns hit only 12 of their first 29 shots of the game in the first 20 minutes.

History: With a made 3-point shot at the 17:26 mark in the second half, Max Abmas passed J.J. Redick on the NCAA's all-time 3-point shots made list and now sits in fourth place, trailing third place Travis Bader (Purdue 2010-14) by 44 made threes by the end of the night.

Mr. Double-Double: Sophomore Dillon Mitchell collected his 6th double-double of the season with a 16-point/11-rebound performance.

Thing You Need to Know: Thank goodness for Tyrese Hunter in the first half because without his 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting, this game might have gotten away from an otherwise cold-shooting Horns (6 of 19 from the floor without Hunter).

Half-time team triple splits: Texas (41.4/37.5/75.0), Tech (50.0/42.9/66.7)

"You've Got to Coordinate": Shout out to the all-time great John Witherspoon from the movie Boomerang on this one.

Need civil attorney in Austin

Hey guys. Old here seeking help from your collective knowledge. First of alI, I wish you all a great new year.

I need an Austin area attorney for a couple of civil matters.

1. A prenuptial agreement.

2. A potential class action lawsuit (hopefully with punitive damages) against a medical group breaking a Federal law. I worked for federal government for 36 years and I am familiar with the US Code and Federal Regulations and the research I did on this looks pretty cut and dried.

Any help you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.

Nation's top RB, Jordon Davison, trying to decide between Texas and Ohio State for Junior Day visit

At some point, 5-star running back Jordon Davison will have a tough decision to make when selecting a college. With about 50 scholarship offers on the table, it will be no small chore for Davison to narrow his focus to one school.

More immediately, Davison has a tough decision to make regarding his travel plans this month. The Mater Dei standout is looking to make a junior day visit, and he’s torn on which campus he’ll hit.

“I’m debating on if I ‘m going to go to Texas or Ohio State on January 20th,” Davison said. “I just have to choose.”

As the top-ranked running back in the 2025 recruiting class, Davison has offers from just about every school imaginable. He hasn’t yet put out a formal list of favorites, but said realistically he’s considering about eight programs. An official unveiling of those schools could happen later this month. One program that will almost certainly make the cut is the Texas Longhorns.

The 5-11, 203-pound Davison has made multiple trips to Austin and he has developed a strong relationship with Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice.

“I talk to coach Choice all the time. I actually talked to him yesterday,” Davison said. “My relationship with him is very transparent. We have a great relationship and I know if I was to go there, he would be one of the coaches who would develop me.”

Choice’s proven track record both as a college coach and having played the position at the highest level are factors that Davison is well aware of.

“He played at the level that I want play at someday,” Davison said.

As he continues to work through the process, Davison said he’ll take most of his official visits in June but he might also take some in the spring to spread things out. He’d like to have a final decision made prior to the start of his senior year at Mater Dei.

A five-star prospect, Davison checks in at No. 12 on the 2024 Rivals100.
