Another one in the portal!

Shane must have told them he had no intention of transferring.

That’s what the rival teams will be saying if it’s true.
Hell that’d exactly what we all mocked with aggy and Kyler/Allen
Good grief. It’s not exactly the same at all. Rising and Thompson will be behind a proven starter. Murray and Allen weren’t. If I’m wrong, I’m sure I will be gently corrected.

Nobody knows if Roschon is the future. Rising is further advanced as a passer than he is.

I hope they all stay and time will tell but it’s prob a safe bet in the least Herman is going to favor a dual threat guy in his offensive system that can run and pass

Rising and Thompson committed to Texas at a time when there was no clear cut starter and the position had been a dumpster fire for nearly a decade. And now they’re both looking a sitting another two years behind Eglinger (after redshirting in 2018). I don’t find this the least bit surprising.

No patience or something is definitely not going well in that room.

These things have a way of working themselves out, but I really hope Thompson stays (even moreso than Rising).

I agree. I’ve had the opportunity to see Thompson play several times while in high school. The guy is a hoss!

I never quite understood how/why some on the board automatically placed Rising above him in terms of potential. I can only assume they have seen both play and have made an informed opinion. Thompson is the read deal make no mistake about it.

I would rather not lose either one...but if arising was to go...Thompson is not a bad alternative.

My only issue is why do this NOW...and not wait until after the bowl game. The focus for all of them should be on the game - then review their options after the season.

IMHO ....

Wow. Something’s wrong.
Isn’t it obvious. They do not want to wait. They want to play NOW!! They will not get that here at Texas for at least another 2 years. That’s what is wrong.

I’m not saying it’s the same situation. I’m saying opposing fans/coaches will be saying the exact same things we said about aggy.

That sumlin was an idiot and obviously there was some sort of bad blood behind the scenes to run off 2 QBs in one single offseason.

Exactly. Anybody saying these two freshmen are scared of current high school players is retarded. They want Sam’s job now and barring injury know they have no shot for at least two more years. Couple that with the possibility that Shane doesn’t leave and they feel like they’re going to be wasting their talents for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully we keep one of them.

Would be largely nonsensical in our case.

Stop saying there is something wrong. Sam is gonna be the starter the next two years, and they can see how crowded the QB room is getting. This is simply a case of them feeling they would have a better opportunity to play somewhere else sooner. Sucks that this is the current way recruits handle competition, but it is what it is. Next man up...

Haha Jesus. Not sugar-coating this anymore. These are two of the dumbest transfers I’ve ever seen as a University of Texas fan. Welcome to the world of Snapchat-Fortnite-millennial Quarterbacks. It’s going to get more and more frequent.

Sam would graduate and then Rising and Thompson would be juniors. That’s not enough for them??? Especially for Thompson, with Rising leaving?

No offense to Thompson but where is he gonna go?

I wish them well and I know they’re good guys. This is just hilarious.

Would make sense. But man, young QBs nowadays have no patience at all.
But I was told that QBs nowadays now understand their “worth”, or some nonsense. Every kid wants to play as a freshman or they are out. Such a “me first” attitude

No disrespect to Shane, but if either of these kids don't believe they can beat out Shane for #2, they were never gonna play here to begin with.

....a lot of truth to that!

I have a lot of respect for Shane. He’s a stand up kid.....but both Rising and Thompson are better options.

When it’s all said and done, I think we will find one that will stay.

It’s called kids that have to sit for another two years not wanting to wait their turn. They all want to start from the jump and that just doesn’t happen unless you walk into a bad situation (see Sam).
