Another sad ending to a once promising career

There was a time when I thought Trevone Boykin was a can't miss QB. At his best -- TCU was a national title contender; he parlayed that into a backup role for Russell Wilson and contention for a Super Bowl ring. Now he's going to the big house because he can't keep himself from hitting a girl. Sad ending, and disgusting at the same time.

And what was TCU thinking in the 2015 pre season? They were promoting him as a Heisman candidate nothing wrong with that. But they were making him out to be a boy scout. You went to Baylor so I'm sure you know all about the bitter rivalry between Baylor/TCU. I wonder what they're saying on the Baylor websites.

Truthfully? I learned of it over there! One observation - 3 years may be deserved, but that’s a lot stiffer than a few years ago when Mixon and Ray Rice used women as punching bags. Times have changed, at least with respect to punishment.

Punishment was including other charges not just hitting someone. Also I assume his history was brought into consideration.

With regards to Mixon, like Stoops said if it had happened a year or 2 later then it would have been handled differently.

You mean if it wasn’t one of your star players it would have been handled differently. That was a terrible incident and Mixon should have never stepped foot on a football field again after that.

Oh I don’t know you’d have to ask Stoops, I was just parroting what he said.
