Arkansas

And yet....here I sit, reliving the 80's all over again, trying to decide who to root for, Iran or Iraq in that conflict. I have intense disdain for Piggy, but I've got to root for them against my utter contempt for the College Station Cult...

Aggy was a 21 point favorite coming into the game as of last night.

Midway through the 3rd quarter, and Ags have a 0.9 yard rushing average. Wow.

Oh, they just increased it to 1.4.

A long way to go but --- there was a lot of grumbling from the "former students" I know after last weeks Auburn loss - how long until they turn on Jimbo if this shocker holds up?

I don't have the longevity of some of you so the SWC rivals don't mean much to me. Either way, I think as a horn fan you gotta pull for Arky in a game like this. They may compete for a few east Texas recruits each year but nothing like the recruiting battles we have with aggy.

I can’t say that I blame them. I would be furious as well. Aggy had good plaers when jimbo got there. Cupboard wasn’t bare like in both our coaching changes.

It is already happening and the game isn't even over yet.

trust me when i tell you-- there was a time, especially in the 80s before they left, when arkansas was a BIG TIME player in the dfw area for recruits. maybe THE biggest dog in the yard at the time.

And they bailed on the SWC in 1991, mainly the Texas Longhorns. It has been a long grinding road to the bottom since. Ditto aggy, corn, mizz, buff, next? Hope you are paying attention OU. Texas is the sun of college football. Choose to leave orbit and you die.

Say what you will about the quality of a Land-stealers degree, or their program's lack of ethics during Switzer and Stoops eras, but the Sooners are clearly one of CFB's elite. If any team is in the other's orbit, it would be the Big 12 in OU's orbit. Just being painfully honest.

Texas with huge lead
RRS / Head-to-Head

Comparable, but OU above
Winning percentage
Bowl record

OU with huge lead
National championships
Conference titles
Conference titles while in same conference

The only school in your list that OU should even consider is Nebraska. Even the Huskers have a losing bowl record, though. So do all the others.

If OU goes to the B1G without Texas, do they still recruit the same Texas High School talent? History says, no. As Eldiablotejano pointed out, Arkansas used to be the big pull in Texas. Now they are nothing.

OK. Thanks for clarifying.

OU is forced to drag okie light every where it goes. Them leaving would officially end the big 12.

Cupboard was far from bare when Strong left
I don't know, ZigZag. After two 5-7 seasons in a row, they were mentally bare, with few decent upperclassmen and sporadic freshman and sophomores. I also wouldn't compare our players to Bama/tOSU...
Relevant seniors 2017:
Poona Ford, Armanti Foreman were good. Andrew Beck and Naashon Hughes were starters, but, average for D1.
Juniors: Malik Jefferson, Charles Omenihu, Connor Williams, Gary Johnson, H. Hill, Elliott, Boyd were good. Chris Nelson and Patrick Vahe, Hager, Anthony Wheeler pretty average for D1
Everybody else-pretty young.
