**OFFICIAL Texas vs Borderline Erotic thread of Vengaza del Cochino**

i'm an admitted quinn apologist. i get the frustrations though. he can do things almost nobody on this planet can do. but he also messes up some things that you'd expect your high school's jv qb to be able to do. not AT ALL implying he's not intelligent, but i do wonder if he'd be better in a less complicated offense. just a thought.

but he keeps winning, and watch hiss teammates-- they believe in him. i was friends with a VERY prominent player on the simms/applewhite teams-- he is a legit Longhorn legend, played in the NFL, etc. i asked him once who was better and he said simms and it wasn't even close at all. i get that feeling with this situation. maybe talent-wise ewers isn't llight years ahead of manning, but i think the players WANT quinn as their qb for whatever reason. watch the sideline when he ran for that first down-- they love and believe in that guy.

side note-- maybe cook was a manning guy and that was part of the reason he's no longer at Texas

Yes we won and QE made a play when he had to. That doesn’t wipe away the shit show he was in the 1st half or how bad he’s been against pressure. Elko and aggy will be the best d line we’ve seen this year. If he can’t get his shit together before we play them, they will break him and leave him the fetal position in the locker room at half.

This game encapsulated how I felt going into it. Could lose. Probably shouldn't. Never were really in that much danger but closer than I would have liked.
Yeah,
They tend to play over their heads against us. Great to see a win over a rival on the road--this is an appropriate time as any to get this rivalry turned around--with a 2 score win.

That means aggy win over them isn’t a quality win, right, since we stomped Florida? 😉

Disagree. Quinn is managing the game and avoiding the bad play. He’s not Vince but he’s a true pocket passer: He was “golden to golden” when it mattered. A great team plays in unison with their defense. This was a team win for sure. Quinn was solid when it mattered. First half he threw how many drops? In the end we won fairly comfortably with 8-9 mins in the 4th qtr. in Arky. A place that hates us.

Double digit win over a historical rival that if presented with a choice of Texas or Satan would choose Satan 100 times out of 100, I'll take it!
1 pt or 40, a W is a W. On to the next opponent in our way.

There are a myriad of things that are wrong with Ewers and it would take to long to list them.

I'm starting to have doubts he can take us to the championship. I've never seen a Texas qb so incapable of running out of the pocket.

Yet another Sunday QB hedgeing analysis. We just F-in won against a solid SEC rivalry team at their field. Arky. Last time they schooled us. We closed it early in the 4th qtr. 9-1. First place SEC. So exactly what is your logic?

This. I swear nobody understands just how much those people hate us, and just how how hard they’re always going to play us. Arky is a different team against Texas.

And guess what, we beat that hate right out of them when it mattered in the 4th. That is how you deal with those people, and THAT is CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL.

Not ready for the sec my ass lmao.

Pleasure hanging out with y'all today! Hook 'em!
In fairness, before you get too high, there are 16 teams in the conference. Your have beaten the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 16th placed teams while playing the 15th best this weekend. You lost to the number 3. If you played the top half like OU you might think a little differently. Yes, ours has been similar with playing 7.8 and 9 as our highest wins, but the look at us in the SEC might take a breath until beating the top half.

You realize aggy is in a no win situation on Nov 30-- right?
It's at home.
It's likely to be a night game.
You're installing loud speakers to amplify the crowd noise.
You've been in the SEC for over a decade whilst this is our first year.
The entire SEC will be looking to you to stop your rival from making it to the SEC championship in year 1.
If you win- you're supposed to. If you lose, it sets your program back years, makes the rest of the SEC look down on you even more than they already do, and calls into question the millions of NIL money that's been wasted on your program.
Not to mention what it will do to your fan base.
Win and they'll whistle past the graveyard.
Lose, and I see nothing short of a mass suicide event at Kyle Field.

Look if Ewers is blitzed early and often it doesn't look good for Texas. He gets sacked at least a couple times a game even against Florida.

Have you ever noticed that Ewers never connects on the long ball? He can't/won't wait longer than 3 seconds and then he throws it. He threw deep at least 3 times, mostly to Golden and missed badly. I question if he has the poise.

Look our defense is great and they really stepped up yesterday probably their best game of the year. Special teams are solid carrot top came through when called upon. The receivers are there, Helm is a shitty blocker but still a good te. The running backs are good. The coaches are the best we've had in a long time.

But Ewers is the weakest link.

So…the point was you have played the bottom half of the SEC or not? The combined SEC record of your opponents besides Georgia is 12-33. Georgia handled that one easily. We are supposed to win? You will be favored in that game. Lose, and you have had a fake ranking all year long. Pretty sure we won’t fall apart if you win..you are supposed to. You are ranked 3 right?

Look I don't care how much those hillbillies hate the longhorns. Look it's been 15 years since the Rose Bowl. I'm tired of let's be happy we won. Our schedule has not been tough but the only good team we played beat us by 15 points. It's been 26 years since we won a Heisman, 19 years since we won a nc. I'm tired of this.

Blah, blah, blah…schedule this, schedule that. What’s your obsession with our schedule? Also, your posts are getting boring.

I also seem to remember you coming on here before the season and warning us how anyone in this conference could jump up and beat us on any given weekend. How this wasn’t going to be like the B12 where we could play bad and still win. Now the bottom of the league is trash? I don’t think anyone on here thinks we we wouldn’t lose another game or two if we played more of the top teams, but we would also have a pretty good chance of winning them as well.

I was assured that the SEC was hard. That it was the most talented conference in football.....That Texas wasn't "SEC ready".
That road games in the SEC were nightmare fuel. That there were no weeks off. Anybody could beat anybody (except Vandy).
We get here and we are tied for 1st place, we've won all our road games, we are beating people just as badly as we did in the big 12 and Vandy is actually pretty good.

We're the new kid on the block. Aggy is supposed to have a 12 year talent and recruiting advantage over us. How is it that we should be favored anywhere but by bookies?

QE is bad on the road. He is bad vs. the blitz. He has a problem with focus. He can't climb the pocket. He doesn't see things sometimes. He is just okay. As long as he manages the game then we should be okay. Just enough first downs to give D a break. Just enough points to allow this defense to win games. Because QE isn't a QB that can take a team on his back and win games.

I have to wonder how many drives stall because of a conservative game strategy. It seems like we move the ball pretty easy when we need a score. Once we get the lead by a couple of scores and our defense is playing good then we usually start opting for low risk plays that doesn’t have a big chance of getting intercepted. I think Sark realizes that in these games the thing that would do us in would be to give the other team a short field and momentum flip. So he goes conservative to limit that. Some games w e are still able to score due to defensive breakdowns but against a team that has a capable defense we get bogged down. If the scores gets close then Sark goes back to more aggressive plays and we seem to score. No doubt he would communicate to Ewers when to push it and when not to. NFL teams do this all the time.

Why the hell should he have to put the team on his back and win games? That’s what VY did - and we were insanely lucky that he NEVER got hurt. That’s what Colt did. Then he got hurt. And we know the rest…..

Man, this program is consistently playing like a TEAM - really for the first time I can remember. At least since I went to UT in 2002.

Not that Quinn reads any of this, but I believe in negative energy. There’s entirely too damn much of it around here. Y’all all sound scared.

Christ, let your f’in nuts hang gentlemen.

This is 100% accurate BUT it's not who he was last year or the year before. Something is different. OK, let's go with the theory that this was a rivalry game and Piggy sacrificed a chicken Friday night and stuck pins in their QE dolls all weekend. Was Vandy a rivalry? Was uga a rivalry? Look at the check down to the wide receiver screen when Arkansas was showing blitz. They had a deep safety and no one on the slot receiver. That tells you they're dropping out of what they're showing. He saw 9 guys on the line of scrimmage and panicked. Then on the goal line when he threw the slant to Helm. It was the right read but he was so ready to get rid of it that he threw it into the ground. Those were reads and throws he's made for 2 years.

The same thing goes for seeing running lanes and taking off. Last year he made people pay when they turned their back on him. Not this year.

The best thing I saw in that whole game (and I've watched it twice so far) was the 4th down play to ice the game. He didn't hesitate. He didn't panic. He didn't slide. Hopefully that was the Quinn we've seen for 2 years coming back to us.

Like it or not- QB has become the most important position on the field. At some point, a QB has to shoulder the load and drag his team across the end zone for the win. It's just the way it is. Quinn, at one point in his career, looked capable of doing this. Right now- he doesn't. Agreed- he's got talent all around him- but what good is that talent if every time he's pressured he curls up into a ball and concedes the sack? Or trips over his own right tackle? Or throws the ball too quickly into the dirt. Or feels pressure and floats one out there only to have it run under by a db.

At one point he had moxy and swagger. I just don't see it right now. Maybe he is the guy that just wants the win. That's cool. But damn, I'd love some style points every now and then.

^^^^^ this x 100 ^^^^^

College station is only 100 miles from Austin. Hopefully this isn't to much of a road trip for Ewers.

LOL!!

Aggie jokes just write themselves nowadays.

So which is true about the SEC? Is it that every team top to bottom is capable of beating each other or is it there’s only 2 or 3 good teams while the rest of the bunch are weak as shyt? Typical myopic Aggie logic clouded by their deep insecurity about Texas. When UT is in the conference kicking ass then it’s because we played a weak SEC schedule. But we were all told that the SEC had very few weak teams during all those years when Texas was in the B12. So which is it?

The hate for Texas and insecurity you guys have about your school is astounding. Let me tell you something that you will probably find very hard to believe. If we lose to Aggie we will be disappointed but we congratulate them and our lives will continue and we move forward. If Aggie loses this game, there’s going to be a mental health crisis among Aggies that we’ve never seen in the history of the world. I am honestly concerned that some Aggie faithful have put so much hate energy into this one game that if they lose they will seriously go into depression. This one game is going to be treated like life or death to them.

Those people are sick and mentally disturbed.

Go get a life my friend.

When we beat them in 1969, cars with Texas plates couldn't buy gas in Arkansas. Darrell said: We get to go home.

QE is in a slump. I would compare him to a .250 hitter with 50 HR's and 110 RBI. Sark needs to figure out the 3 high safety defense by running the ball.

It's Sarks offense. Teams are deploying 3 high safeties and taking away the long threat. They are forcing QE to dink and dunk the ball down the field. Texas could use a big power back and a quarterback who can run.

Listen here Aggy, A&M dodged Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee this year. So please spare me with the strength of schedule bullshit. With Mizzou and LSU losing on Saturday that now gives the Aggies zero ranked wins.
