supposedly he has been quoted saying I was wrong. Is he trying to set himself to be someone's hc next season?

In other Baylor news, Johnny Jefferson, their rb who had that phenomenal game in their bowl game against NC has announced he is sitting out the season due for personal reasons. He was in a car wreck and had just gotten healthy. Then it was announced that he has a child by a Baylor coed.

I don't know if anyone on here besides me has ever read Dan Jenkins. Great writer, really great writer, knows more about college fb than anyone I know. Ive learned a lot of college fb history from reading Dan Jenkins. Anyway he's best known for his novel Semi Tough the best sports novel ever imo. Semi Tough turned into a trilogy Life Its Own Self and Rude Behavior. Anyway the fb players depicted are basically guys with an iq of 85 who cant do anything but play fb and ****. The more this Baylor story goes on and its nowhere near over the more these Baylor players seem like something out of a Dan Jenkins novel. Talk about pathetic.

You know Baylor is traditionally one of the most religious schools in the country. Students are still required to attend chapel on a regular basis their first year. It sounds like the kind of place you'd want your daughter to meet someone at. So long as he's not a fb player.

Talk about pathetic. But hey if you're interested you might want to check it out tomorrow morning.

IMO, Briles has two very crucial things going for him (other than coaching of course). 1) He is very driven 2) I have watched many interviews of him in the past and he comes across very genuine. I certainly don't approve of anything that happened under his watch, but, just observations. Like it or not, I believe he will land a D1 HC position for 2017.

Seriously doubt most D-1 schools will give him a look. He's brilliant coach. However, in today's campus environment they'd want to know every detail of why he was dismissed. No way the PH oral report will be given to any other prospective employer

If he gets a job if will be at a smaller less successful program looking to make a splash. If Houston loses Herrman and gets in to the big 12 maybe they bring him back.

He can coach no doubt about that. Not sure he's worth the baggage. You have to wonder if he can recruit anymore. I mean would you want your kid playing for him?

My guess is he ends up at Auburn next year. He'll bring some of his old assistants from Baylor including his son. Baylor will have to start over from dead scratch. They could be at Kansas level in 2 years.

I was thinking about Aubrun to.

I watched the interview,he was captain of the ship and lost the wheel and takes the fall.Auburn has been nothing but a coaching graveyard and you have saban in the backyard.Houston would be my guess if the coach leaves or maybe an assistant coach in the NFL.

Yeah. I actually think the NFL is his best bet. One of the keys to his success was his ability to recruit. You'd have to think that's been significantly hurt.

Not so fast my friend. They've had a lot of success not just in fb but in their entire athletic program. With that success comes a lot of donations from alumni and now their facilities are as good as anyone else's. They now have a new stadium they are no longer playing in that outdated eyesore they used to play in. Also their success in fb is recent. Lastly their new ad. He hired Tom Herman at Houston. Does that mean they're going to get TH? No, he's not coming. But it does indicate that he knows how to hire good coaches. They won't sink that far.

He also hired Barry Odem at Mizzou in football and Kim Anderson in basketball. Neither will work out well there imo. So I think his hiring track recored is a little unknown

Problem is they lost last years recruiting class (4 to Texas) plus other transfers, and with the uncertainty this year, will lose another. The resurgence of Texas is a double whammy. Texas is going to get who they want. OU is recruiting well. Baylor will be lucky to even field a competitive team in 2 years. They only have 70 players and tell me how you build quality depth when you don't even know who your coach will be.

Meanwhile, Baylor just better worry about SMU. They are not looking good.

That is true. The one advantage Briles had is he got to Baylor at a time where Texas was struggling and A&M was having issues. Now Texas looks to be back and Houston has emerged
