I dont know if i am libertarian, i'm just some guy. The closest thing that I might identify with other than being independent is being moderate. As a moderate, I reject extremism on either end of the spectrum. I am the antithesis to the far left and far right.
Since the loudest clucking is coming from the fringe elements on the left and right, I see very little to like out of anyone. Since either party has decided there is a culture war going on, they are going further and further away from center to appeal to their base. so i have been mentally checking out of the nastiness of politics and focusing more on sports and cars. Amazing how that's affected my happiness

Only one reason to ever vote for him, and that is if he’s running against trump. For a lot of people that’s enough. I couldn’t bring myself to do it so I threw down behind a third party candidate just like I did in 2016. Because I despise all of these people who are winning the nominations

I didn’t feel strongly about anybody so I went third-party.
The only candidate who said anything that I liked and talked about more than one different policy that I thought was interesting is Andrew Yang. But his platform is limited, and doesn’t addressed other issues. But I liked that he had some out of the box thinking. Which is something we don’t see much these days
So that out of the box tinker right now looks to be RFK. Despite the fact that he has some ideas that I find to be a bit strange. His thought process is nuanced and he is an intellectual and I can appreciate that.

In reality there are 365 million different political ideologies in this country.
Because of a binary process (created and controlled to keep us at each other's throats) it is unlikely that this will ever change simply because of "votes".
As a moderate, you've surely read the Declaration as well as the preamble (and the entirety) of the Constitution.
We are granted rights in both documents. I say "rights" because ppl often think only the Constitution lays out our rights-- but it's not the only one.
So does the Declaration.
One of those rights is to throw off a government that abuses and usurps its citizens. The fact is that there will no longer be (they learned from the past) any viable 3rd party candidates that will be allowed an opportunity to lead the nation. The System won't have it. That is but one of many examples of a usurping government.
There is a tumor that has metastasized inside our nation that I don't believe can be carved out by votes.
But according to your post you dislike Biden as well, just not as much as you hate Trump. Why not a 3rd party again?
Moderates have no ideological rudder. That's why they are moderate. They stick their moistened finger in the wind to ascertain it's direction and follow the majority. I can certainly accept a libertarian and do understand their views. I differ with libertarians whereas Christian teachings differ with the libertarian's hands off approach, namely abortion, etc... but I am libertarian in many ways. An extremist doesntl ike a moderate because they arent as extreme as they are. they see the lack of extremism to be too timid and wish washy. it's one reason why I despise extremism; theier politics are black and white and nuance doesnt exist to them. Like with abortion an extremist might say no abortion no matter what. on the other side an extremist might say abortion until month 9. I reject the binary nature of our politics as has has caused a radical polarization at the fringe ends.
unfortunately those are the loudest screamers and whiners. And it got way, way, way worse around 2015 when a certain candidate got a lot of support behind a platform of demagoguery. Which caused the pendulum to swing far far left, and then far far right again. So what we see now is the fringe elements on the left fighting the fringe elements on the right, and the normal regular people like me are watching form the outside wishing people would stop being so ideological.
I read it as a 6th grader, not as a grown adult moderate. but yes i certainly read the whole thing. The reason no 3rd party candidate will likely be viable (not consistently) is because of the power and money vacuum created by the corrupt parties that run politics. we still have the power to vote for whoever and whatever we want, we just chose to vote for the two piles of crap the two parties nominate for us.
But if enough of us reject that, we can have a viable 3rd party. but most people care more about their side winning so we'll never have it. why? because they watch their favorite news station to scare them sufficiently that they vote for that side again. So that's one reason i avoid all non local news.

Cultural differences and corrupt politicians. Sudan SHOULD be the 2nd wealthiest nation in Africa- behind the DRC. Their natural resources are eclipsed only by the DRC. But like the DRC they are controlled by corruption.
I've seen divided nations split first hand. I've been on the ground. I've seen the build up. I've seen the posturing. I've seen the violent resolution. I've seen the outcome.

The safest and easiest way to avoid what happened in that country is do what they did, only more rapidly. Sudan SHOULD have voted to split back in the early 90s. But they didn't. They waited. The 60% in the middle held out hope while the 40% on the fringes just grew worse, more bitter and more spiteful toward each other.
And by the time it became obvious to the 60% that a split was imminent and necessary, it was too late.
Guess who has suffered the most in that bloody divorce? The 60%.

This is an accurate description of most Americans when you strip away theory and generalization in this type of discussion. A large portion want to pontificate on what should be until you boil it down to a scenario dealing with them specifically. It's amazing how many people become Libertarian then.
Sudan is a great example of what we get to look forward to at some point. And for anyone that says "that would never happen here", nobody in Sudan thought it would ever happen there either. Human nature is what it is. No matter what part of the planet we call home, we're all the same animals under the surface. It's just buried deeper in some areas of the world than others.
Yes, looking for a reason not to vote for him. So far no I see no other alternatives to the R and D. And it seems right now the R will be trump, who will not get my vote under (almost)any circumstance.
I dont see anyone taking the nomination from biden. It's certainly possible but i'll need to see it happen.

It's gotten worse now with social media and 24 hour news that runs in 15 minute cycles. And their only incentive for doing that is money. And we all know you get more ratings (money) by feeding the people what they want to hear. And people have a tendency to believe what they see on their favorite news channel.
Thing is, we all know that's a problem- the fringe elements of society- that much we can agree with. But that's where it stops because in spite of any level of disagreement on the problem, each side blames the other side for this problem. Honestly i think they just like that half of us disagree with the other half- which is one reason why a two party system sucks. you need only blame and talk down one side to win.
i see no issue with hardlining on a specific issue like abortion or guns or whatever. it's a hardline on the entire idealogy that i dont like. everyone has opinons on issues, even hard ones, even me, despite not being a member of any party. it's just that many on the right hardline on every issue that the republican leadership is on, and the same with the hardliners on the left. people should think for themselves, and not align their beliefs with the party, but with what you think is right.
Here's the thing- anyone can leave if they dont like it. I travel extensively around the planet, about 40 countries now. I've seen it all, communism, socialism, dictatorship, monarchy, democracy. Ive seen how people live in the rest of the world, and how people feel about things. And i still keep coming back to the US, it's better here, substantially, for many reasons. nobody is leaving. they know how good we have it, in spite of the political climate. nobody left when trump won in 2016 and nobody left when biden won in 2020, despite all the promises celebrities made about moving to canada.
I dont mean this in a negative light on you, but if i didnt talk to people like you on the internet, i would have no idea that there would be a need for a national divorce. I've heard it a few times but mostly from people on the far, far right. I haven even heard some nutty far left freak even go so far as to say that. and they are absolute lunatics.
i dont have these bickering arguments with people in real life, it's all on the internet where people say things they'd neve say in real life. many of them being angered because of something they saw on fox or cnn. I dont watch any of that so i dont have this sentiment that everyone is mad at eachother or that there's a civli war coming or a need for a separation.
If i wanted to get angry at my fellow countrymen, politicians, and about the direction of my country, i'll start watching cnn, fox, msnbc and newsmax. but it's football season, so , no. who knows, maybe if you avoided all that stuff too, you'd be happy just living your life too. I understand that some people need to be told to be angry. not you specifically, but some folks in general. they'll get angry if someone they trust is saying something that is supposed to anger them (maybe make them tune in to that person's show next week or the following night). It's the people who own the currency who are our real enemies. Our currency is created through corporate loans. Once upon a time, our currency had to be mined so there was little to no manipulation by the people who currently print dollars out of thin air. Did you know that our banking institutions print "dollars" and lend them out at interest? If that's not the definition of slavery, I don't think one exists. End the Fed and many many problems go away. Cap interest at 1% and watch people prosper. The Fed steals your labor through inflation (printing). When they print, the value of your held dollars decreases plus they require businesses to pay usury lending rates which are passed on through low wages and higher prices.

Allow me to explain:
If all of the sudden, a concrete deal was reached about immigration- those that were pro-immigrant and those that were anit- would simply stop donating money to the cause. If the issue is permanently resolved, what's the need to donate money towards the outcome?
Now apply that to gun control.
Now apply that to abortion.
Now apply it to any long time lingering argument that both sides spend billions on in donations.
If the problem is solved then those donations dry up. It's in their interest to NOT solve them. That's a usurping government.
