We are up right now against ole miss and should win this game.

Baylor vs Florida = Loss
Tech vs South Carolina = Win
K State vs Georgia = Win
Oklahoma vs Bama = Loss
Kansas vs aggy = Win
West Virginia vs Kentucky = Loss
Iowa State vs Tennessee = Loss
Tcu vs Vandy = Loss
Oklahoma State vs Arkansas = Loss

We are 4 and 6 right now first to 6 clinches. Looks like we lost the trophy we have been holding on to it for 2 years now. Tough series loss...

Looks like Bama is gonna beat OU. That’s actually good news for UT from a resume perspective.

Big couple weeks ahead for the Horns. On the road @Tech at home against OU, home against Kstate and @TCU

You are right that does help us but I figured ou would of just taken Bama easily and ole miss beat Bama recently as well and we have beat both. College basketball at its best!

Tough schedule ahead!

Shaka has done a nice job this year. You can see every player improving week in and week out. Roach has even found a shot which I never thought would happen. This team may be figuring themselves out at the right time.

Makes the Bama road win look better for us.

Yes, that’s obvious. Still seems doubtful that it helps us overall in RPI or any other metric, since we play OU at least twice. But perhaps it’s the game that makes the difference whether Bama is in the RPI top 50 at year’s end.

That is debatable. IMHO, it has been average at best. That doesn't mean he can't close this year strong. We will see.
Not saying there haven’t been some bumps in the road, but when you consider everything that’s happened, including losing your best all around player for most of the season, and to a life threatening condition at that. He’s done a good job. I know Calipari has kind of changed everyone’s expectations of freshman. The reality though is closer to what you are seeing with Texas. Have some struggles early and right around end of January, in to February guys start to click. Your starting to see that it looks like.

With roach back in our lineup you can see a differnce with his 3 point shooting he is starting to come to his own now. Febres is playing more now and shooting beyond the arc which is a plus and Sims is coming along as well, Davis is also starting to get his groove with shooting beyond the arc as well. The shooting is getting better from what I can see and if this team comes together with the final stretch watch out in March.

This is true for every team in March, but I really think it’s true for Texas more so than most teams. How deep they go in March will depend on the matchups they draw. If they run in to teams that press like WVU or teams that score 80-90 points they are going to have a rough time, but if they can keep games in the 60’s and 70’s maybe, and use Bamba and Dylan O in the post they have a shot.

Wow tcu loses to Vandy they have only won 7 games all year! Well 8 now!
TCU is a perfect example of what I’m talking about about peaking at the right time. They and a few other teams started out hot, and here we are headed toward February and they’ve hit a wall. That’s why one of the things the selection committee considers is the last 10 games you played. Want to put more weight in the present.

We can play with anyone not many teams are wvu with that press and I think Shaka got a taste of his own medicine and will hopefully fix it. Bamba scored his high this game and if he keeps it up like this and our shooting improves we will make a deep run. Also Bamba even got hurt went to the locker room and came back and played and still tore it up.

Id actually like to see Shaka break out the press a little more. This team is actually pretty good at it, and was somewhat effective agsinst WVU. Wouldn’t be surprised if he uses it more against them in the next meeting. Pressing a pressing team is effective a lot... it doesn’t seem like it would be but it is.

I gotta give props to Roach. I’ve made fun of his offensive game a lot. He was seriously the worst shooting guards I’ve ever seen, but he’s clearly put in a ton of work. Young players could learn a lot from that.

Roach 3 point shooting has been lights out big change in his game and when he gets the ball watch out cause he will take it to the hole as well. Taking some pressure off Dylan and Bamba opens up the offense more and Bamba is also starting to shoot beyond the arc and hitting. Next year recruiting class has more of the type of players Shaka likes to have that fit his system.

Yep, and a lot of the team he has should be coming back. Bamba is the only first round draft pick. Coleman needs another year, and unless Roach and Davis want to play overseas they should be back. I like where the program is for the rest of this year and going forward.
