Me too - but think of it as a lottery ticket at this point, not a 50/50 probability.I really wish this would happen but I think he’s gonna be too high in demand in the NFL

No no no, the spread is an offensive concept unheard of by any team not in the big 12, especially not the NFLHe’s a former NFL DC, who excelled at that level against the best competition in football. By comparison, Greg Robinson did wonders here. He gets a lot of good pub for the great job he did in NFL for Broncos and their SB teams but he also was DC of the Chiefs when I lived in KC. And really good Chiefs teams (Priest Holmes) that were high AFC seeds including some top seeds. He was awful there including having worst D in NFL and was forced to resign.
He then comes to Texas in 2004 with no experience vs spread and D improves. Now you may question how many spread teams did we face in 2004 (OU was certainly one) but he came back in 2013 and immediately cleaned up Diaz’s mess and it was certainly against the spread. If Greg Robinson can do it, Dan Quinn can. These guys aren’t NFL DCs because they suck and can’t gameplan. He’d be a fantastic hire.
Chip has been nails the last 3 weeks. So, it's hard to doubt now.I mean, if we can trust Chip..
"I’m told Quinn wants to get back into coaching in the college game - not the NFL - and he’s interested in becoming Texas’ next defensive coordinator. Quinn’s high-energy personality is seen as a natural fit on the recruiting trail and what recruit wouldn’t want to play for the defensive coordinator of the Legion Of Boom right?"
What a dream that would staff that would be.
Coach 1-2 years and get a top tier CFB gig.
With news breaking that Sark might be looking at hiring Dan Quinn as DC, I figured I'd throw out some stats from Urban's last two defenses at Florida (2008 & 2009) and Quinn's 2 defense at Florida under Muschamp (2011 & 2012). It's hard to look at this and not be impressed, especially with him putting up these numbers with Muschamp as the HC and a much inferior offense on the other side of the ball compared to when Urban was the HC. Quinn's defenses performed as well or better than Urban's!

The components for Defensive S&P+ reflect opponent-adjusted components of four of what Bill Connelly has deemed the Five Factors of college football: efficiency, explosiveness, field position, and finishing drives. The 5th component is sack rate.

Just to clarify, no one said (or reported) that Sark used Carroll to help with Quinn. Sark worked for Quinn and Sark was forced out by the GM in Atlanta, not Quinn.
Especially sec defensesPeople need to realize that defenses back then didn’t have to deal with the spread.
