Lay the woody would reply to this if he could!OU fans making fun of Riley, saying "they're glad he's gone" and claiming "they're better off with Venables". 🤣
It’s going to be process and we need a difference maker at qb. We’re going to cut the fat on defense in the off-season thatnk goodness. Riley has had a heck of a year but nobody wants to draw Georgia in the 1st round of the playoffs they get to your qb damng fast. And blowu just finally got invited to a bowl game there 23 year streak could of been shattered...
But no gooners want to talk about how high and mighty their new messiah is
It says a lot about LR as a coach that he can come in and have a 10+ win season in his first year after all the coaches they have through since Pete Carroll. Their defense might not be very good but all LR does is finish seasons with 10+ wins.
With all that talent out there on the west coast he’s going to have no shortage of talent to pick through. He’s going to put USC back on the map. Those old USC teams of the early 2000’s never had a dominant defense.his qb is worth 7-8 wins on his own imo
And Getsdrilled if he makes a layoff which they don’t deserve over tcuNothing to see here. Just another year Riley wins 10+ games..
Give Riley Dillon Gabriel and see what that usc record is this yearWell when you poach 5* players from your previous school including a 5* starting qb and have an open transfer portal it’s a little different situation than previous coaches had. Riley has a great offensive system but had some built in advantages going into USC
Give Venables the same team at USC and he still loses 5 games.Give Riley Dillon Gabriel and see what that usc record is this year
Hell while we are at it why not just give Texas Nick Saban and see what happens 🤣🙃🙃Give Riley Dillon Gabriel and see what that usc record is this year
After what CW did to you guys last year? You were clearly the better team this year. But OU talent level way down. Maybe next year.Give Venables the same team at USC and he still loses 5 games.
To be honest a lot of those players bolted before Venables was even announced as the next coach. After what CW did to you guys last year? You were clearly the better team this year. But OU talent level way down. Maybe next year.
Williams did not play in the Alamo Bowl. But not CW. He played great in the bowl game against Oregon. Not saying if he stayed OU would have won this year but he is clearly more talented than Gabriel.
He did play in whatever bowl Stupes stepped in for Riley.Williams did not play in the Alamo Bowl.
21-27 for 242 yards and 3 TDs.Williams did not play in the Alamo Bowl.
I pride myself in my exceptional memory.21-27 for 242 yards and 3 TDs.
Every score since 1966 for me.We lost him anyway. The one of the few things Lieby failed out in the portal chaos. USC no doubt is doing well because of its transfers. Am old too. But can remember almost all the UT-OU scores going back to 1955 if you want to test me.
Was this when they were still using leather helmets?Wow. Starting with the best year. First one I attended as an OU student. Loved the fair and the chaos. Good old Bobby Warmack and Vachon the field goal kicker. 18-9. 8 years of Royal kicking OU ass and we finally won. OU had the better team the next year but lost. 9-7 as I recall Vachon did not come through. '68 a great game. Down to the last minute. 26-20 I think when the great fullback, W something scored after Warmack had OU ahead. '69 was the best Texas team I recall seeing. But OU in the game until the 4th Q. 27-17. Want to forget '70. Switzer convinces Fairbanks to start with the wishbone. Two years after Royal had figured it out. Probably 40 something to 10 something. Then the worm turned. Let me know if you or MM really want to hear more. Probably too early for Clob.
No. That was late 1940's maybe early 1950s. By the 60s much slicker stuff. Was this when they were still using leather helmets?
That’s truly impressive and remarkable that you recall the specific games and scores going that far back. Much respect.Wow. Starting with the best year. First one I attended as an OU student. Oldhorn was around back then. To pick up where you left off in 1971 DKR had beaten OK 12 out of 13 times.Wow. Starting with the best year. First one I attended as an OU student. Oh Yeah. 49-0 UT. So matched the 63-14 OU win in 2000. So even. Almost. That’s truly impressive and remarkable that you recall the specific games and scores going that far back. Much respect.
Can you or someone help us recall the 2022 game and final score? LOL!
Oldhorn was around back then. To pick up where you left off in 1971 DKR had beaten OK 12 out of 13 times.
Then OK came in with their version of the wishbone and dropped 48 on us. The final score was 48/27 and OK had a guy named Greg Pruitt who was unbelievable.
That OK team scored an incredible number of points that year.
Good one Cali. And OU fans, and Switzer, figured out Royal not recruiting black Texas HS players (Greg Pruitt, etc.) was not working out and Royal got back to work. Took a few years to pay off. After OU kicking UT butt until '74. Then things got back to normal.Oldhorn was around back then. To pick up where you left off in 1971 DKR had beaten OK 12 out of 13 times.
