Here We Go Again

If they want to do it, then just do it, but keep the idiot politicians out of it.

aggy always complains about their schedule being full. They play 3 high school teams every year. Those would be very easy to move or cancel if they wanted, especially the shameful div II game every year in November. But they’re skeert.

This is 100% correct.

I couldn't care less if Texas and a&m ever play again. They quit the rivalry and the conference. Screw 'em.

Kind of funny on a lot of fronts.
1. Our November DIv II game (UAB) was ranked right about the same as Iowa St. in the final polls. So, only WVU, UT, and OU were above them. They probably would have been around .500 in the Big 12 and would have beaten Maryland and not struggled against Tulsa (basically winning because Tulsa did not have D1 Kicker).

2. Even with our 3 high school teams, we still had a higher SOS than UT on pretty much every SOS metric out there.

3. You guys (not you, but your school) keep initiating these stories through the AAS or your student referendum, Del Conte comments, etc. Just more evidence that you guys want (and need) this game far more than us.

Aggy has been reduced to riding the coattails of Alabama (Birmingham) LOL!

Dishonest and vapid thinking on all fronts per usual, Billy Sodbuster.

1. Congrats on accidentally falling into a semi-decent team in UAB in that slot last year. I believe that was simply an anomaly and UAB jumped up and surprised you. Wasn’t for lack of you scared girls trying to find high school teams to play in November though. This is supported by the teams you play there every other year: ULM, New Mexico, UTSA (twice), something called Western Carolina, etc.

The dishonest and cowardly SEC practice of having this high school weekend in November every year when polls are being finalized is nothing short of shameful and you should be ashamed.

2. Yeah you played Bama and Clemson. We know because you coattail riders brag about these loss-wins incessantly. That’s why your SOS was higher. Whoop. Congrats? Your OOC schedule is still cowardly every year playing 3 sisters of the poor. Helps you stay bowl eligible I suppose.

3. Your aggy state reps propose these bills and have more than or occasion so dishonest here as well. And you’re on a Longhorn site, Einstein. You aggys are simply scared to play. Period.

Funniest thing I've read all day! Texas never has and never will need a&m. Keep thinking that a&m matters and is respected. =)roll

It is your President, AD, and Head Football Coach who have all said publicly they want to play again. Loftin said the same thing when we went to the SEC, but Deloss had his feelings hurt. A&M got settled in the SEC, things are going well, the money is flowing in hand over foot...and that is when you guys realized you needed the game.

The irony is that the Tulsa team WAS a WIN.....plain and simple. You aggy boys keep bragging about how YOU LOST to teams. That Georgia team wouldnt have been able to beat Tulsa since Tulsa played TEXAS closer......this aggy logic is so pathetic. Luckily for aggy every loss they had this year was because they felt they should've been playing in a "Bigger" game. Smh

Its funny and sad at the same time that you believe the crap that you post. aggy brainwashing at its finest. Yeah, you guys have gotten "settled in" alright in the $EC. Playing embarrassing non-conference games against the likes of Northeastern Idaho State. If a&m truly wanted to play Texas, they could easily bail out of some of those brutally tough, meaningless games against little sisters of the poor. But no, aggy says that their schedule is "full" as a way to avoid getting their ass kicked by Texas.

aggy is the gift that keeps giving. aggy jokes write themselves. =)roll

Hook'em!

Not this sh!t again.

I've already said no is like 27 different languages.

Neither school president is really pushing for the game. They are both going hat in hand to the legislature asking for more funding. They know that many in the legislature want the game, so they say they want it as well. They both are playing a game, but it ain't football.

If both schools really wanted this game, it would not be that complicated. They are both completely full of shit. Stop believing a word either says.

Yes, A&M has settled in the SEC. As their nature, middle of the pack at best and the big dogs shitt_ng on their face.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Yeah, the teams that don’t run away scared. Like aggys.

Scholz, you have that talking point down. Don't believe everything you read in the AAS. Kind of like taking CNN and Fox as the Gospel truth. We do know that Loftin said we wanted to keep playing on Thanksgiving and we were already on your schedule, but you guys said no, we are going to take our ball and go home.

Don’t have to ever stop speaking the truth thanks. Deloss is long gone and so is 2011. You scared girls have ducked 2 bowl games and a home and away with us since you ran away lying through your teeth. You’re scared your attempt at changing your loser status will be shown to be a flop and that absolutely nothing has changed. We all know what it is.

It's good for college football.

It's good, I think, for both schools. You may think we're both recruiting well, but if this game were on the calender every year, it would help recruiting even more. The absence of this game has only helped TCU, Baylor and TT to recruit this state better.

But the main reason is that it's a storied rivalry, and college football fans around the country deserve it.

Sure, it's nice to have eternal scoreboard, and a 76-37-5 advantage, but it's about time to put pettiness aside and renew the rivalry with Aggie.

LOf*ckingL at the idea that Texas needs this game.

Our AD wants two home games and one P5 home-and-home for the OOC schedule in future years. Accordingly, to play aggy, we'd have to give up our current practice of scheduling series against big-name programs like ND, USC, LSU, tOSU, Bama, Michigan, and Georgia. Our AD and president view these marquee series as more desirable than scheduling a perpetual series with a program that hasn’t done anything in living memory.

mm42, your fellow aggy, correctly explained the reasons for the phony, politically-driven expressions of interest in resuming the game.

Scholz, I have pointed out numerous inaccuracies that you continue to float out there. I guess if that is being dishonest/redundant, maybe so.
Because you repeat BS over and over doesn’t make it any more true.

Straw man? Who said that Texas needs this game?

Needs nor wants. Regardless I don’t want to give up marquis games against blue blood brand-name college football programs to have to play a local mid tier team every year.

The aggy I was responding to. (Along with just about every poster on texaggy ever.)

Texas doesn't need it by any means. I just think this game disappearing is bad for the sport. It's bad for college football. And I think fitting us into their annual high school November weekend would work out perfectly. Or put it back during Thanksgiving where it belongs.
