Home generator - yay or nay?

With ERCOT's winter notice, I'm seriously considering installing a whole home generator. 26kw, air cooled. In the Dallas area. We have had reliable electric service outside of the Feb. '21 cold snap, but I'm a bit concerned about continued reliability. It's an investment $$$$$. For those of you who've installed them, any regrets?
