If Hurts doesn't come to OU he likely goes undrafted and is struggling to make a roster. His decision to go to OU was a big reason he was taken in the 2nd round and is not starting in the NFL. He led his team to 10 wins and a playoff berth last year. That's a pretty great feat in itself as a first year starter. I have my doubts about him as well but so far he's exceeding my expectations. You make some decent points but how many of those 16 offensive guys you mentioned were Olineman? At least 8 I know. I think you threw a PK in there too LOL. Pretty sure Bedenbaugh who is OU's Oline coach gets the credit on the Oline draft picks and development. He's been called the best in the business at what he does. He was there before Riley ever hired on as OC and he's with Venables and Lebby now, turning down Riley's offer to go to USC.
No doubt Riley has had some success with qb's. Mayfield fit Riley's system to a T but Riley brought him along no doubt. Kyler is in discussion for greatest hs player of all time so he had a ton of talent but Riley did bring him along as well. Hurts. Well I was never a fan of Hurts and I'm not sure he was developed much at OU? He did get drafted which surprised me but I have a feeling his pro career is much like his college career, watching him is a nightmare if he's your qb. Now what gets lost in all of this is Riley's butcher job of development on Spencer Rattler. That was in his 5th year as a HC and the most talented team he'd had according to him. Last year was THE YEAR (his words).
As far as Rattler, what college coach do you know that hits on every single QB prospect? 4 out of 5 isn't bad. As it seems like Caleb Williams is a hit. Even with Rattler as bad as he was this year he had the balls to pull him and put Williams in. On top of that you guys still won 11 games.
You just sound like you're a little spoiled which is why i'm going to sit back and enjoy you guys taking a step back this year.
