My love of college football ended today. I won't be watching or supporting this rag tag bunch of losers again. Absolutely disgusting what I saw today. UT Football can FOAD for all I care. Which I don't. Not anymore. LOSERS!

This was tough to watch. WWII Japanese military officers committing seppuku would be envious of what we did.

A game like today's is definitely trying on your patience. Big picture and long term though, I like the direction that Texas is trending. You can see how Sark is getting the offense going. Gotta keep recruiting well. The obvious glitzy pick ups are position players, but Texas' biggest needs are OL and DL. If Texas can land Arch Manning, that would be an obvious huge get and will create a ton of recruiting momentum.

87 don't give up on the basketball program. With Beard at the helm, you'll have 4 and 5 star overachievers hopefully winning conference titles and deep runs into the NCAA Tournament. Texas Football will never get there. It didn't when I was in school there, (no offense to Clob, Mackovic was an idiot) and it's not now. Football is an "enjoy the carnival moment" but know that your clown is the one with the sad face.

Respectfully disagree. Our football program is just barely 6 games into a new regime. There's a lot of work to be done but we're heading in the right direction. Let's see how Sark is able to recruit and develop his guys. If one or two 50/50 plays turn out differently yesterday we're celebrating a big win over OU. We didn't win any 50/50 balls yesterday. But OL is an issue and they know it. Our Defense was supposed to be a strength for us and it didn't show up yesterday. Our secondary is playing horrible and we're not getting the DL penetration consistently. We have no playmakers on Defense. Our transfer portal recruiting this off season will need to be exclusively on defense and the OL. We can't just pursue any transfer candidate. We need to go after the top transfer candidates.

Sorry bud, I saw all I needed to see yesterday. It's not there.

What everyone saw yesterday doesn't mean that's they way it will be permanently. I think that Sark has things trending in the right direction. Texas will get plenty of skill position players. I think the most important need, especially going into the SEC, is signing top OL and DL. The key to winning is recruiting consistent top ten classes and developing those players, which we haven't done in years. Time will tell. We need to be patient and give Sark and Co time to get it done, which I think that he will.

Dude, same song different verse.

No need to disband. It still brings in loads of cash. I don't expect to win games that mean anything. Bowl games that are not part of the playoff are meaningless. When was our last big game victory? I'll tell you. It was vs OU in 2018. And the one before that? The point being, we are playing fewer and fewer big games without victories and none with victories. It's going to get ugly in the SEC.

Personally I've been worried about this ever since it was announced in July.

Yep, that's why it's time to get on the basketball bandwagon. The new arena is going to have moving seats like in a Harry Potter movie... anyway, our basketball program is going to have an NBA feel and is going to be very, very, good with Beard as coach. Beard gets it as much as those running our football program don't.

Whoa let's slow our roll on that one (me included).

It's been 24 hours I've gotten it out of my system. What else can we do? Time to get back on the farewell tour.

Nicely put.

Believe it or not, Beard will have a few struggles in his first season. We'll lose a few games that we shouldn't but I'm confident that come tournament time he'll have them playing his style and we'll get at least into the sweet 16. Tough D and easy baskets in transition. His teams have always relied on having at least a couple of dead eye 3 point shooters. Our roster lacks those kind of players right now. Ramey and Jones each shot around 30% from distance. That will need to improve but we will be a much better team defensively which will help offset the lack of high percentage 3 point shooting.

I imagine the games between TX/TT will be heated.

The 3 pts shooting will be much higher because Beard runs a rhythm offense. We don't have that idiot smart running the show. This team will be elite. We have 7-8 wins right out of the gate. I think we beat Gonzaga on their court. This won't be your typical shitty stumbling texas team that we are used to coming out of our AD.

I'm not the biggest basketball fan. I love the Beard hire. Smart should have been run out of Austin a few years ago, but his contract was the issue. Moving forward, I think Texas will get back to being a factor in the NCAA tournament, and the buzz of the new arena is very cool.

This loss sucked but you have to have patience.

No doubt that if Arch Manning were to commit to Texas it would be huge. His commitment would help pull in other recruits and get a ton of buzz and positivity going with other recruiting targets.

NGH

Manning has commented that Texas "feels like home" to him. You never know with kids. He does have a solid family who will help him make the right choice. When it comes down to it, I think that he'll choose Alabama over Texas.
