Will this be the best class since the Vince Young class? There sure seems to be (on paper at least) some big time difference makers up and down this class. The OL and DL are super solid....the WRs got to be an A+ now.....QB looks great......I don't see a "weak" position group unless you see taking 1 RB as a weakness...I think Texas is loaded at RB and took a solid RB this class...

I know we can't answer this question till they get on campus and put some games behind them to know for sure. I am just wondering what some of you all think about this class in relation to the best class Texas had in the past at least 20 years in the VY class (I think so anyway)...??

I predict at least 3 Conf Champs and 1 NC before the RS's of this class leave Texas.

Kam started following Malik on twitter today. And yes he is a take, even with all his antics, as speed kills in this offense.

It would be nice to know that if you hand it off to a back that they could do a Jamaal Charles and take it to the house on any play. Texas has some great backs but a homerun threat is nice to have.

If we're going to take Hudson, Cobb, Li'l Duvernay, much less Martin and/or Urquidez, we're going to need some attrition to avoid an abnormally small 2017 class.

I think every Mack WR but A Foreman, and maybe one other, has now been recruited over.

I'm not sure where they find room, but it may end up being Donovan, Patrick and Kam with Cobb going to OU. If Fowler and Southall make it in, I believe they had 3 open spots before they had to dig into the idea of not putting return walk on players on scholly that had them in 2015.

I have to agree here...I thought for sure some of these guys would be great players but it just has not happened. Lot of wasted ships.

Meh..... if they win a natty, then yes.
They would have to win a natty to be considered. I just meant on paper what do you all think? We won't know till a few years down the road I know...but on paper this is a fantastic class.

Swvahorn good expectations but would say far fetched to say the least. Who knows though
Do you have a reason to say this is NOT the best class SINCE the VY class? or are you just a sooner mouthbreather who can't give Texas credit for anything? Oh nevermind....

It will without a doubt be a top 5 class with Hudson, Martin, & Cobb

Easiest thing in the world to do? Make predictions. Right now Vanderbilt and Colorado can predict 4 straight national championships. Take off your burnt orange glasses and realize your prediction is probably not happening. Improvement? Sure. Of course if you are so confident put your money with your mouth is. Sure it's a long time wager but I can wait. Say 500 dollars for each season it doesn't happen? If you are down, we can exchange info. Let me know

I am neutral so I will weigh in. I think OU is stronger right now than Texas, OU pulls in good recruiting classes, but for some reason can't get over the hump? No way OU should lose to Texas last year, & getting blown out by Clemson back to back? Maybe Texas takes these strong classes & if Strong gets them to gel Texas passes OU in the next 3-4 years.

I think OU is sort of stuck in that top 5-7, but not elite, area. Maybe Texas can make the elite level before OU? Or maybe OU stays just ahead? If Strong can't win with this class we will know.

Considering the exceptional classes we have been bringing in, why would it be far fetched? Or are you just being you?

We have already seen texas pull down 4 consecutive top 5 classes from 2009 to 2012 and still manage to shlt bricks. I think it's only fair to be weary of counting chickens before they hatch.

It boils down to common sense. Could Texas pull that off? Sure. Is it likely? No. It's not likely for many outside of Alabama. And if you disagree it doesn't make someone a Texas hater, it makes them smart lol

Heisenberg...you are correct ( I am gonna go iron my hands for having to type that) but there is a big problem with those classes. Too many guys were ranked way above their actual playing. Bad development or bad ranking...one or the other. I like our last 2 not quite top 5 classes and I think we are much the better for them.Even I am a bit leery of calling us in a Natty and as you can read here, I am the kool aide king guzzler.

That wasn't the norm for Texas, when recruiting that much talent, but I expect a comment like that from you, lil mama. Texas had no QB and lost talent galore. We still ran through OU, which is the norm in the series, and more talent is on the way. This will be the last season, that Texas doesn't come in as one of the favorites to win the Big 12.

Again easy to make predictions. Some ( not all) Texas fans are turning into OSU fans. In other words, " just wait until next year, we will show you guys".

Here is a tip.....I hate tOSU...and as I have said before...I ALWAYS hope OU comes to the RRS undefeated.I always expect that they do not leave that way. So there you have it...I want OU to beat and beat badly OSU and OU still sucks.

You a "wait until next year" lie. That hasn't been the norm around here, that feeling is just starting to set in. I would compare you to something pathetic, but you're an OU fan, nothing is lower than that...

...and Texas isn't OSU, just compare our head to head records against OU...big difference. We smack OU around, and we have good reason to believe, that Texas is getting back on track.

Texas has very rarely been a "wait till next year" team. Texas hit a rough spot and is coming back like the monster it is! You are being obtuse if you think Texas is going to be like the teams of the last few years forever. Not going to happen. Texas is real close to being back and you should fear it.

Texas has like 1 title the past 45 years right? And how many conference titles in the big 12? ? Like I said put your money where your mouth is. It's amazing the past few years how good Texas gets from February to August. I know I know, you guys are almost there. As for Ou ( if y'all care) I think we are in the 6-15 range. I think we will struggle in the trenches vs big time teams. I don't expect Texas to suck forever, but I don't expect 3 conference titles and a NC in the next few years.

We have a more recent title than ou. 2000 is a long time ago.

Oh excuse me, Mr I'm not here to talk trash.

I guess it will be like Alabama. Where scholarships are only guaranteed one year at a time.

Ok, here we go.

Texas has the most recent NC of all Big 12 teams, so um, f*** OU and your one clean title. I'm not impressed by your crooked deeds. If you don't think Texas is on the up and up, who gives a damn. I asked why and you have yet to give me anything of substance. You chose to whine about Texas fans believing in their squad. The nerve of us. The talent is piling up and the wins will follow. Scoreboard chump.

Talk is cheap. Your fellow poster stated he could see 3 conference titles and a NC before the RS of this class leave Texas. I disagree and we can put 500 per year on it. The talent has always been at Texas and what has that got you the past 4 decades? And scoreboard? That's so okie state like. You guys could care less you had an average year as long as you win your super bowl vs Oklahoma lol . Come on guys don't turn into those kind of fans. I respect Texas and consider them a big time program. I want y'all good again because it makes the RRR even bigger

Yes, scoreboard. Just because you don't want to hear about getting run over by us doesn't make it go away. Now insult UT some more and lie about respect again, $ooner punk.
