Truth doesnt have to hurt. Its okay to admit when someone is right, its fair. Yeah, maybe too many guys were ranked above their actual playing, but that's something you only see in hindsight anyway. I do recall mack having texas still winning some games before he was booted. His last three seasons were 8-5, 9-4, 8-5 and in '13 they were 1 game from the big 12 title. With very inconsistent qb play and with a carousel of coaching. Then of course in 14 and 15 we see them take massive dumps on themselves. At any rate, I dont get too high or too low on recruiting because of how often guys dont pan out. remember darius white? OU's classes werent top 5 in the last couple years but i like who we got in 15 16 and 17 a lot! gaw just get back to being good again and make this rivalry mean something again!
We have all seen it though. And there's always reasons why teams suck, you know your reasons, tx struck out big time on qbs; but it doesnt change the fact that they were four straight top 5 classes people were excited for. Over the past 6 meetings since the last top 5 classes took flight OU has a 4-2 advantage, and two of those 4 victories were epic blowouts: 55-17 and 63-21. so it doesnt seem your idea of 'we still ran through OU' , rather seems the opposite. But its true, in 2 of those 4 tx did win, so you gotta hang your hat on something. It's just too bad tx has been laying eggs for so long, it would be nice if they actually competed for meaningful games. You know how hard it is to get a bunch of big headed kids pumped up for a 1-4 team? It shouldnt be but apparently it is! so step it up already. What's it gonna be 7 years without a big 12 championship, 8? Maybe make it a nice even 10, that's a nice number. Kind of aggieish.
And reasonable minded people have good reason to hesitate to jump on the 11-14 train to charlieville. Hey the good news is after this year, there's a really good chance charlie will finally not have a losing record at tx.
All we need is iowa state, as long as they are on the schedule, the big 12 will be safe from texas.
