Lets hear it aggys, what did you think of Jimbo's debut? Won first game 59-7 against the mighty Demons of Northwestern St.

The level of talent was lopsided but here are my takes. (Only watched first half so I might have missed some things)

You have a TE that can play, or at least is a threat as a receiver.
Mond made some good passes, and missed a couple but overall looked good.
Terrance Williams can run.
Pass Blocking looked questionable, especially picking up a blitz.
Didn't see any sacks from aggy DL, you would think they would have been able to get a few.
Aggy receivers had a couple of bad drops.

Mond & Williams will be a good combo for the Aggies. Williams could be the best back in the SEC by the end of the year.

I was not impressed with Williams at all. I dunno, to me it just looks like he's pulling a trailer. Like every step is a struggle. Not fluid at all. I don't think he runs away from anybody when aggy starts playing college teams.

I didn't get to watch the game; I had a JV football game to coach. I like the stats only because we are much more committed to the run. I saw some highlights and it does look like Williams has gotten a little slower. He has added some weight since last year. I just hope to stay relatively healthy through the next few weeks. This week will be pretty rough, but it should give us a better indication of where we are.

Went exactly as it should have, Northwestern was bad. Which means my expectations are unchanged, 7-5 is still my guess. I hope to be somewhat competitive against Clemson, Bama, & Auburn. Doubt we beat Mississippi State. Expect a split with South Carolina and LSU. Gotta handle Arkie, Mississippi, and Kentucky and I think we will. We have too many underclassmen playing to beat anyone really good.

Starting three low 3 star true sophomores on the offensive line seems like it can't work out against the big boys. Somehow all our receivers are sophomores as well, fooking Sumlin. Mond looked much better, less of a deer in the headlights. His accuracy was much better. But not great. I just wonder how he looks when the guys chasing him are bigger and faster.

I couldn't tell much of anything on defense, the talent levels were too different to really learn anything. Really worried about the corners against good teams. I think the front 7 and safetys looked ok.

Really excited about 2020 and beyond. Hope I can keep this prospective after a few tough games.

Your schedule this and next year is tough. Fans should expect 7-9 wins at most. But it will lighten up in 2020/2021. By those two years, you should demand no less than 10 wins a year considering how much jimbo is getting paid. 2022, the schedule gets tough again.

Perspective. If more aggys were sane and had perspective like you, the world would be a better place. ;)

I don't get people who think setting false expectations makes you a better fan. I actually think we will have a better team than the last couple years, but we happen to be playing a better schedule than those teams did. I care more about execution, toughness, and recruiting this year than wins. I hate to accept a 2 year honeymoon period, but next year's schedule is horrendous along with losing 4 starters in the front 7, maybe 5 if Dodson leaves early. I'd be thrilled to be good soon, but why set the team and new coach up for failure. If we win 8 in 2020, I'll be super disappointed for sure. We should be what we are going to be by then.

Im not gonna lie......watched some highlights and that Louisiana High School team looked out manned.

Most Aggies I know are between 7-5 and 8-4. I go 7-5. Losses to Clemson, Bama for sure. Then you have MSU, USC, and Auburn all on the road. I think we lose those three and beat LSU. But, we could win one of those and lose to LSU.

I'm shocked at your realism for a&m this year. I think they lose 5 games this year. I also think that Jimbo will produce the same average record that Sumlin did during his time as HC there.

That's an understatement. Lake Travis JV could've beaten that team.

That Lake Travis JV is good. They said they would have beaten Maryland last year they were that good.

We are in the SEC west and have Clemson as an OOC opponent. Have to be realistic! With a Big 12 schedule we would be 8-4 or 9-3! Outside shot at 10-2!

All kidding aside, you guys have a great weekend!

with Texas' schedule A&M would be looking at a 4-8 to 7-5 range.

Bob.....ur an idiot....i love how aggy think they can beat a High School type team and really believe they are "back" especially when aggy has never been there. Go ahead and beat those cupcakes because no better than 500 in the SEC west is best case scenario. Congratulations actually beating someone at home though thats been a real tough place to play latley said no one in the SEC. Aggy is aggy.....thump those High school teams because next week you will feel that same pressure that is applied to all those sheep in aggyville.

Honest to God. If I was aggy I would feel somewhat ashamed for playing a team like that. I mean I know everyone schedules some easy opponents in out of conference but that was sad. After the third false start I felt bad for the players. You could tell they didn’t want to be there and we’re basically being embarrassed on TV for the school to get a paycheck. I think it’s rediculous, and I’m not pointing out aggy, but the whole college football.

And you think Aggies are delusional? Well many are, but so is your projection. You guys play 1 elite team, you guys have a great schedule for a good team to make the playoffs. Not that we could with your schedule, but a good team could.

I also thought it was pretty low for aggy to go head hunting like they did.
It was a scrimmage to try and get us ready for SEC football, not flag football. We need to work on keeping our heads up for sure, but helmet to helmet will happen again. Players should always play hard, it is the coaches job to not run up the score.

He predicted we would go 7-5. Very reasonable and no one is claiming we are back or that Northwestern was worth a shit. Why make stuff up so obviously untrue. Try harder, God knows we give you plenty of ammunition.

Ordinarily I would agree with you, but it just had the feel of a heavy weight boxer full out laying into an amateur. At some point it seemed like it crossed the threshold from playing hard to being an AHole.

I guess I think they should’nt be put in that position and just play a more equipped team. The FCS matchups should be done away with.

The NCAA claims to be worried about player safety and then allows such unevenly matched teams to play each other. Just gives me heartburn. I’m done with my rant now.

That’s cute but Maryland isn’t the punching bag of D2 FCS. They’re P5, Honest Abe. Great comparison. Baylor was up on NW St 48-0 at half year before last. They get thumped by FCS schools. That you girls aren’t completely ashamed of scheduling them just shows you have no shame.

It’s early obviously but our SOS is listed by ESPN as 10th hardest in the country. To say we have one tough game is ridiculous. WVU, TCU, OU and USC are all very difficult games. I would venture to say all 4 would beat your squad.
