Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend: Is it time to go Portal Fishing?

It was a monster song.

Still is.

It's one of the greatest country songs of all-time, whether a bunch of you get in your feels about it or not.

For instance, CMT named it the No.22 overall country song of all-time.
Whoa....back down there buddy. I never got in my feels about anything here. No idea who that was directed at.

I like the song and a lot of their stuff, I just don't see it as an all timer in the pantheon of 90s songs. Country songs? Yes, absolutely, but open it up to all genres and no.

Loved that you included the Sophie B Hawkins song. Played that one a lot on my tape deck (recorded from the radio).

Needs " I'm Free" from the Soup Dragons though!

Also "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin would have made my personal list, but I was a huge Top Gun fan.

Great lists though. You'll never make everyone happy.

"A Thousand Miles From Nowhere" should definitely change places with The Chicks song tho.

Apples and oranges, really.
A team can scheme to take away a RB, if they wish, but usually at a cost elsewhere. But a QB essentially controls the entire offense. So, there is a much bigger risk/reward relationship. Control the opposing QB and you control the game.
Plus, by season’s end, Rickey was not only the top rusher for 1998, but of all time.
Not too bad.
But, obviously it was a different game a quarter of a century ago.

He had a bad night. I don't know who should be rated above him.

I was speaking in general about the board. Lots of responses already/ Sorry that my use of words made it seem otherwise.

Take My Breath Away came out in 1986.

It'll be interesting to see how his season concludes.

Wow is Evan Stewarts really in play if the Aggies have a mediocre season (ie most likely 7-5) ?

It feels we talk about this every year hoping and wishing lolol and its never a serious possibility

Just some random spit balling here-

1.) would you call the OL this year a little disappointing? Feels like a lot of our lack of downfield plays has been due to lack of time.

2.) while we are likely to unload this off-season tremendously (a welcomed aight rather than one or zero players drafted) do we have spots to be optimistic about next year that we may see a jump
In talent? Kinda thinking safety could be the easy answer…..

1. Not really.

2. I don't think so, but I've been wrong... checks notes... in the last 30 seconds. ;)

With the Wingo ship seemingly circling the drain, do you think there's a chance that Texas can get back in it with Hudson? His two top choices (Sand Aggy and Weird Aggy) seem to be total dumpster fires.

1. What the hell happens to USC after Williams gone? Not that I really care.

2. When will the ags poor play translate to poor recruiting and blue chips leaving?

3. Just typing the music section would be too much work for me, nicely done.

and of course we win out. Not sure I give a flip who we face in B12 champ

Alr rock is literally the first genre he's associated with.

Right. Grunge originated from the alternative rock category but sounds distinct enough to put it into a subcategory.

I'm just saying for me, Buckley is more folk than alternative, meaning I define him a bit more with a dash (alt-country, alt-folk, etc.).

But we're arguing the subjective, so it's all good.

Great 10 ttftw. Now I need to go through Amazon music and add a bunch these to my likes that I have forgot over the years. If you like blues you need to check out marcus king. Goodbye Carolina is unreal.

Williams has had one bad night.

Did you think Ricky didn't deserve the Heisman in 1998 because of the KSU game?

It's not just about one game. I could have told you before last night exactly how he would play in that game. Caleb has had great highlights, but he's fool's gold this year. Like I said, I've watched all their games, and he's not hitting on all cylinders. He has a lot of flash, but he's sloppy. His toughest competition before last night was the Colorado Deion's and the two Arizona pillow fights, and he didn't exactly look dominant in any of those three games. He's no Vince.

He'll struggle from here on out as he has to deal with real pass rushes and secondaries. He doesn't handle pressure well at all.

And he's got a chore ahead of him as they actually start to play real teams. If he can carry this flawed team of his, he deserves the Heisman. However, there's a chance they lose five of their remaining games. I doubt it, but they've struggled against any team they've played with a pulse.

Dan Lanning is an f’ing idiot. I’d be pissed if I was an Oregon fan. Complete 💩 show.

Nothing from Alanis Morissette, Hootie and The Blow fish or Counting Crows?

Millions and Millions or record sales unaccounted for there. 🤷‍♂️

Most of the people in the alt could be listed in a different type of rock. Same with the grunge.

Some of the R&BH could be pop and vice versa.

Damn - music has left me behind, or vice versa. I don’t recognize 90% of the tunes on your lists. I guess that’s what turning to jazz and classical in the 1990s gets me.
What's your jazz list from the 90s look like?

All three could have songs in the honorable mention.
