Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Its time to just say what we're all thinking...)

Don't tell Chad Hastings, but no one will want to talk aggy past Monday due to excitement about UGA. Damn, SEC, it does just mean more.

And there is QE, like a red headed step son to you. Putting his guts (ankle) on the field and your heart remains cold. QE deserves some love, damn it.

B/S - It’s time to put some damn respect on Tre Wisner’s name.

B/S - If Texas is even or wins the turn over battle in all remaining games it will be time to “Light The Tower Orange”.

B/S - Hill, Muhammad & Simmons will all be first rounders.

B/S - Kenny Baker needs a “Bad M’Fer” wallet.

Negative ghost rider. SMU is legit and their defense is better than they get credit for. Don't let the thrashing Indiana took from Ohio St. fool you. Indiana plays hard and makes few mistakes during a game with OSU being the loan exception.
South carolina might be the 2nd best team in the SEC right now.

I still have a problem with Notre Dame getting their way all of the time - the powers that be should require that all teams that are considered for a spot in the 12 team playoff be a member of a conference just like the rest of us. Time for the easy street party to be over for the Irish.

They are legit a top 5 team right now.

After the game, is Texas better than you thought or Aggies worse than you thought?

I never thought the 2009 defense was elite. It was good, but not elite. I think if you took this 2024 defense and it had to handle the situation where Colt got hurt against Alabama, we would win the game.

Let’s talk Muhammad.

I know Barron has had a fantastic season and will get what he deserves. But in the end I’m not sure Manny isn’t the best DB on the team and isn’t the 2nd best defensive player on the roster right now and is probably closer to being #1 than most realize.

Could MM be a top 20 pick? I think so.

Top 10? Not outside the realm of possibility. He could end up being the highest drafted player out of Texas since VY.

Buy/Sell…that. Was the easiest buy/sell question you’ve ever been asked?

Stonie’s play literally won the OU game on the last play…Burke’s play was critical, but we would still have had the lead and a RB averaging six YPC vs the Aggie defense.

Texas has had very, very average quarterback play for two months.
OK. He hasn't been healthy. I guess you conveniently forgot about that Ketch. Come on man, your better than this. Your boy Klubinek has been healthy all year and is still average. Played like booty yesterday when his team needed him to play well. QE is 23-3 in the last two years on the brink of winning two conference championships and putting us in the playoffs two years in a row. This hasn't happened at Texas in the 5 years prior to 2023.

Ketch, B/S Bond is near or at 100% for the playoffs?
Also - any chance Bond would return assuming his play/contributions remain low the rest of our post-season, like they’ve been since he got banged up?

He’ll be viewed as a better prospect than Sanders. He won’t be around past Day 2. Honestly he might be the best TE prospect we’ve put out in 40 years.
Totally agree, Helm is THE go to guy on this team. He’s made so many great plays in tough situations.

What positions are you hearing Texas will go after in the portal? Would you say Texas goes after the following.
RB-OL-DT-DT-WR-LB-SS-P-K that would be 9 players in the portal.
It’s crazy to say, but I believe we need a punter in the worst way possible. These 38 yard punts are getting old, and not being able to control the distance on punts that need to put teams inside their 10-15 yard line are non existent at this time

Based on what? ND is not good.
What’s their record if they played in the SEC 8-4?
They have an elite defense.

It probably depends on the schedule. Who in the SEC is better than 8-4 or 9-3?

Who is definitely better than them.

Barron has been the best DB on the team, but Muhammad has been exceptional.

I haven't forgotten about anything. It has nothing to do with Klubnik. Your confirmation bias... not mine... is shining through.

I don't think so.

It could have been prevented. Easily.

Bryce McFerson transferred from Notre Dame and is averaging 45.1 yards per punt at Maryland. Net of 41.8.

Options existed.
