Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Now what?)

I'm still digging to find a definitive answer to that. I don't think one truly exists outside of some hypothetical discussion that I'm not sure has a ton of value at the moment, I think the general expectation is that he will lose again before the end of the next four games.

Fair answer...

Thanks

no doubt. Where's the sword?
Here you go......more like a dagger.

Herman will never get us to the playoffs. Never!! Big 12 championship game maybe, wouldn’t bet on it. Every year his team is undisciplined and horribly coached. Typically this year it took 6 games to play decent, still 13 f****** penalties. We never get out of Sept. w hope. I hate Herman !!

I'm not quite sure how to handicap that. Give me some details on the conference title loss.

I guess I’m referring more to the optics of A&M making the playoff and the implications that might have on the BMD pressure to make something happen with CUM.

This was a pyrrhic win. The future of this program depends on getting rid of TH and hiring Urban while there is time left to save the next two recruiting classes. Status quo will guarantee two mediocre classes full of three star prospects, while OU continues to feast on five star talent and the Aggies get the best of the rest. Only a bold move can turn this around, we all know TH can’t fix the mess, even if we win out.

What in the Wide World Of Sports would lead you to believe that Herman would keep Wilson on the field enough to catch 11 balls??

Bijan can’t stay on long enough to get Going. Our best WR was targeted 3 times(I believe) in regulation yesterday.

Wilson would have maybe 15 receptions through 5 games here.

Also, Sam would still be running for his life b/c of this oline that hand has put out there w Herms blessing.

Herman is gonna do just enough to stay and in the process set Texas football for another 5-8 years based on recruiting alone.
I realize winning is everything, but the brand is bigger than Herman and deserves a staff that can elevate the brand to where it should be. CDC needs to make the tough call and rip the band aid or risk the ire of many many alums (and their money) in the process.

I think you can say 8-2 doesn't mean crap, but it would have Texas ranked in December as highly as it has been since most seasons since 2010.

I don't disagree with your big picture assessment. I'm just telling you that you're not firing him before he loses again and by the time he loses again, in theory, Texas' season could look a lot different than it does at this exact moment.
This is exactly why they should have fired him after OU... Texas had all the justification in the world. Fvcking amateur hour around here.

If you are literally debating firing your coach game to game, week to week, it shouldn’t be a debate. You know you don’t have the right guy.

ketch - not sure why you think the donors and administrators are fine winning against mediocre teams by 1 score. 8-2 doesn’t mean crap if you look crappy doing it and could easily be 5-5. It’s an illusion and recruits know it.
BINGO

We need too much to go right a la Tech or OK State and that's not realistic.

This team can't just win a game against a comparable opponent, it's always last second or an improbable sequence of events.
we're on the same page

TH will not be the coach here in ‘21.
