Looks like Day in his defensive room had a directive to go with a 4 man DL group vs. 3 and Day letting Kelly do his own thing as an OC yet not Knowles led to his exit. Knowles was also told by Day previous to the 'ship celebration in Columbus that if he didn't "commit" to OSU a couple of days before the event he would be barred from the celebration, that's when rumors of his departure does down until...he left. 👀
