Kyle Allen

Who is the guy that left Baylor, Stidem I think his name was. I'd love to get him as well.

It would be really fun to give Shane a little competition for a year. I believe Shane is a hell of a QB and will be great, but he needs some competition.

Have we sold our souls? We're talking about sitting a true freshman qb with so much potential, and bleeds burnt orange for an aggie who hates the university and the cultures but only wants to come to have a shot at the NFL? Hell no to Allen.

But wouldn't it be so worth it if he does great at Texas? The aggy tears would fill up the stadium. I don't know if he can beat out Buechele or Ehlinger but it is worth a shot at least for depth.

My gf family is aggy and they will try to say something like example you need an ex aggy to win IF he won the starting job

1-yr in Herman's system and 2-years of game experience seems like a nice bonus and provides good competition. Doubt he has much love for Aggy or Sumlin and couldn't care less as long has he helps us turn the ship around.

Hook 'em

Bringing Kyle Allen in would probably get Herman off to a fast start. Developing Shane further and bringing Seth along is probably better for the long term. I would probably go that route if it were me.

Coaches usually discourage players from following them. Its almost unheard of. Kind of lousy thing to do to your prior school, especially if you've left on good terms. Imagine if Strong gets hired immediately somewhere and lots of players followed him.

This is a bit unique though as it would be a grad transfer I believe. Little different than most kids transferring. A lot of coaches discourage it because you lose a year of football.

Still, its not something a coach typically wants to do to his prior school. You very rarely see this under any circumstances. I'm not sure why Allen ever went to UH. Anybody could see that Herman wouldn't be there long.

It would allow us to redshirt Ehlinger and develop more of a succession plan at QB. Right now, Ehlinger would be the backup going into next season. I think we would agree that anything that allows us to preserve his eligibility would be a bonus.

yes 100% that would be a great thing. Having to depend on true freshmen needs to end quickly.

Of course, I would rather he brought Ed Oliver with him and I wonder if he's bringing Major.

I don't feel bad for Oliver. He knew Herman wasn't long for Houston. The only shot Houston had to keep Herman was to get in to the big 12 and everyone knew it. He would of had a better shot at playing for Herman by coming to Texas haha.

I don't feel bad for him either, but I would take him in a heartbeat. He's already the best player they have.

If the kid can ball, bring him on over! I think people are forgetting... We lost to KANSAS!!!

Transferred to a non power five who's coach would probably leave soon. Seems like he wanted to go somewhere out of power five conferences so he could not be blocked if he needed to transfer again.

This is what I want to know. Is he immediately eligible or would he sit out a year. As a grad xfer, he should be immediately elig.
