The line opened at ND -6.0 (on most sites), and according to this site the number of bets placed is actually towards ND (53%)
That means that the bets that are being placed on Texas are much larger than the bets that are being placed on ND
(typically a sign that the smart money is taking Texas and the points)
It's early, but this is the betting trend that you want to see if you're a Horns fan

I didnt realize that everything this season is dictated by last year in any way shape or form.... also didnt realize that losing as much production and starts as you did doesnt hurt ND, just the rest of the world.... NEWS FLASH - this isnt last year and it isnt the game in South Bend.

Truth is we know nothing. Spring game didn't really tell us anything. We had some injuries so there were 2's playing with the 1's, 3's playing with 2's, and so on. The offense was vanilla, the defense didn't really stunt all that much. The other thing is that none of us have access to the coaches film so its really hard to evaluate who did what. Trust me a wide, tight endzone stack allows you to see everything and truly evaluate who played well. We need to wait for clob's report during the last week of two a days. Pretty sure it will be better than last year but I wouldn't get your hopes up. This team is still a year away.
Because they said we couldn't win it...good enough for me, why you starting to get worried?

1. Texas players haven't forgotten and will be coming into this game like rabid wolves.
2. Notre Dame will be coming in thinking all they have to do is show up and they will win.
There is going to be a rude awakening for one fan base.
Things like "over 50% of the players on the field also played in the game last year" also have a bit of an affect.
There is a reason that after a team beats another team by a large margin, they're more likely to win the next year as well
Upsets the follow year do occur, but they're less common.
Coming from a sooner when nd wasn't a playoff team last year and won't be again this year. We still have scoreboard on you and will have it again this year and your tweaking diva qb.
It's clear that it doesn't take a playoff team to beat Texas...so why would that be relevant?

What's the general consensus from Texas fans about this game? Seriously. Do you guys feel you will be the better team this year? At least who looks better on paper ?
I'll take ND on paper, Texas is an unknown and you cant look at previous record to predict this team... True fish QB is a wild card for any team, the weapons are in place at receiver and RB. The defense will be better in coverage and across the middle but the line is a question mark at the point of push back and getting to the opposing teams QB. I think they will be pretty salty.

10 starters graduated and 7 were in the first 103 picks of the NFL draft. 2 in the first round, 2 in the second, 2 in the third. Replacing: LT, C, 2 WRs, RB, 2 LBs, DT, CB, and a S.
They did have a lot of injuries. There at least 6 guys that were expected to contribute last year that went down early in the season. I have no idea what positions other than the TE we lost out on to them.
