--- Making an appearance for the first time in a while was JUCO transfer TE Blake Whiteley and our source said "No. 80 (presumably Whiteley) is big." We had heard nothing about Whiteley through camp until today.

We are told Whiteley came in on Monday and played with the second team immediately. He looked much larger than many might expect, according to at least one source who said, "he looks like a power forward." We asked if Whiteley was only going to be an "in-line" guy who was going to block and the source said he can move and "all the tight ends are going to have to motion and do things, but they're gonna have their routes, too."

--- The offensive line remains the same - LT Estelle, LG Flowers, C Espinosa, RG Perkins, RT Harrison. Now it seems the only question is, who is going to be the starting offensive line vs. UNT while RT Desmond Harrison serves his suspension?

--- Following the departure of Rami Hammad (who was running third team) as first reported on Orangebloods.com, we're told there was a different group running second-team Monday. It was reportedly LT Marcus Hutchins, LG Taylor Doyle, C Jake Raulerson, RG Curtis Riser and RT Darius James, who has returned to action. True FR Elijah Rodriguez and Alex Anderson were working with the third group, Orangebloods is told.

--- We asked one key source if James' foot looked like an issue since he had injured it before, and the source said "he's fine." A second source said James "looks good" and is clearly a player on the rise.

--- This source said Jason Hall is still running at first-team safety and we can take from that that Hall is doing something right to hold on to the job while we hear virtually nothing of Josh Turner.

--- Both the offensive and defensive lines focused on working stunt drills Monday during position periods, according to one person we spoke with. The defense was bringing the stunt while the offense was practicing passing them off and picking them up correctly.

--- Many have wondered how a walk-on in Ty Templin was really going to hold off an athlete like Daje Johnson at the slot WR position, but according to one source from today, maybe they can be on the field at the same time. "(Monday) Daje was actually taking more first-team reps than usual. The first team was in trips once with John Harris, Templin and then Daje out wide."
