****Offical Texas Baseball Thread****

Here's a dyk for you guys.

I asked my brother when was the last time TX won a super series away from Austin. He said it was the year Augie won his first Series. That was 18 years ago. Let's break that steak this year.

Oh and Texas State came up short against ST can't say that I'm surprised.

Texas state closer didn't close out the game last night they had a first timer try to close it out, well that didn't end well back to back homeruns to tie in the 9th then a single walked it off....

Their closing pitcher started last night bullpen failed at the end

That's what happens when you are playing your 4th or 5th game in 4 days. If you fall to the losers bracket you have to have deep pitching. This is why we have to win while Hansen and Gordon are on the mound.

When it comes to this time of the year whoever has a deep bullpen usually fairs better, Texas State was sitting in the championship waiting for Stanford, bullpen was fine until they had to reach the last game

It was actually in 2005, which was the year of Augie's second national championship.

And in fairness to us, that was also the last time Texas played a super regional on the road, so it's not like we have some long losing streak in supers played in other teams' houses. We've only ever been on the road for two super regionals (2003 at Florida State, and 2005 at Ole Miss), and we won both of them.

So it was the second title not the first. I'm not surprised this only our the third time on the road for a super series. So tell me about East Carolina. I think they're ranked 8th and I know we're ranked 9th. Tell me more.

ECU is 45-19 and was on a 19-game winning streak before they lost a game in their regional last weekend. They are a very good team.

With the way our pitching has been you gotta figure winning game 1 is a must… gonna take a come back

Home teams in Supers winning the first game advance to Omaha 80% of the time. Gotta some how win these next two games! We're just going to have to outscore them in high scoring games.
