With lack of practicing not surprised special teams sucks early.Finally. D makes a play.

It’s a brand new scheme and only 1 non conference game. Like I said chill out. They are making some plays. We knew we weren’t going to shit Tech out.Obviously I'm not worried about scoring points. I'm worried about stopping the other mother fvckers from scoring points.
We do not excel at this.
One thing this program doesn’t lack is WR’sLittle white boy can play.
But they shouldn't be running stride for stride with us. Our secondary doesn't seem to have improved very much. Yes, cris just picked off a pass but that was a wing and a prayer pass that he walked under. Sam has made a couple of questionable throws and is WR has bailed him out.
We've run about a half dozen bubble screens to this point, and yes, we are getting some yardage out of them, but a good team with speed will smother that play.
The line needs to start coming off the ball and opening holes. This titty fight zone blocking is too soft to wear teams out in the second half.
Sam is clearly the best athlete on the field---- and he's a QB.
yup. Combine that with Covid and teams (like Tech) with literally not a normal practice since 2019 then you get an even more weird first few weeks.I think you are going to see a lot of close games and upsets early in the season with very little practice for anyone and in some cases new coaches and coordinators
Houston Baptist must be Fo real.yup. Combine that with Covid and teams (like Tech) with literally not a normal practice since 2019 then you get an even more weird first few weeks.
tech has legit offensive weapons some of which have already torched UT last season. To think with finally their stud QB they are going go to not give UT a run is clueless
This is why I don’t buy Tom Herman has a big time coach. Teams lack discipline. When you watch the Saban, belichek, Meyer type teams they are all solid on special teams.Oh my dear god the special teams is a fvcking clown show.
Let's blame covid for our inability to field punts.
I’ll go out on a limb right now. With the Roster, and coordinators Herman has plus what is happening in the SEC right now... if Herman doesn’t get to the CFP this year it won’t happen. Everything is set up for him. Kinda like Mack with VYI have zero confidence in a Tom Herman run program at Texas. Texas will routinely find dumb ass ways to not put teams away. And 3-4 times a year it will be too much to overcome.
Texas will go at best 7-3 this year.
Perspective-- Houston Baptist threw for 572 yards against Tech in their last game. This is why I don’t buy Tom Herman has a big time coach. Teams lack discipline. When you watch the Saban, belichek, Meyer type teams they are all solid on special teams.
It isn't going to happen. Herman is slightly above mediocre. Nothing he does is elite. I hate it and I hope I am wrong, but this point is continuously proven, even in game 42 of the TH era.I’ll go out on a limb right now. Who is the HC there? He looking for a new job?Perspective-- Houston Baptist threw for 572 yards against Tech in their last game.
The two leading relievers in that game for Houston Baptist were----- true freshmen.
One kid had 5 grabs for 209 with 2tds and the other had 12 for 130 and 1 td.
It shouldn't be.I said yesterday I was feeling like this would be tight...
I would agree. I wouldn’t say he’s mediocre. I’d call him good, because he will win big games. I think if you are lucky he will have a Mack Brown type career where everything falls in to place for him to get a title at some point. It isn't going to happen. Herman is slightly above mediocre. He's got a career 45-70 record. Vic ShealyWho is the HC there? He looking for a new job?
I expect the defense to improve as we go. Ash is kinda learning these guys on the fly and vice versaOn a positive note our run defense looks stout.
Yes, that's been one of the few bright spots on defense. On a positive note our run defense looks stout.
So he'll probably be available...perfect!He's got a career 45-70 record. Vic Shealy
I said slightly above mediocre for the exact reason you listed.I would agree. I wouldn’t say he’s mediocre. I’d call him good, because he will win big games. I think if you are lucky he will have a Mack Brown type career where everything falls in to place for him to get a title at some point.
