***Official Good Guys vs Purple Toads Game thread***

I'm willing to give Flood more time same with PK. I do think Thompson was just off all day that and some drops led to inconsistency. the biggest frustration is the lack of imagination in the red zone. Specially inside the 5. We are who we thought we were. 2-3 more losses. Turnovers won the game.

Why should have to use your imagination when you are lining it up and getting 7-8 yards a rush? No excuses for not punching that last one in.

God dammed rain is ****in up my fishin down here this whole season. I gotta vent somehow? I figure you guys are as good as any at listenin. 😁
Not a great start to that fine tuning. They went through your D like a wet paper towel until a 3rd string RB fumbles. Y’all get to the 1 and end up settling for a 79 yard field goal?

lol, man, y’all look like....well us.

Having to reshuffle the line after Okafour went out really hurt. Bijan was making plays out of nothing. Its nice when you have a guy that can make an unblocked defender miss and get 7-8 yards out of something that should have been no gain. Its a luxury that will won us a game today and will win us games in the future. But man this was ugly. Cant get any pass rush with 4, cant cover when we rush 3 and drop 8, 5 penalties in the 1st quarter, 9 over all. Two times giving up field position on punts that should have been fair caught. Chasing points in the 4th quarter when you have a 12 point lead.

The only good thing to come out of this game was we won a road game against an above average team when we played really bad.
All those little things that add up. These are the things I bitch about the most--- the details.

Nobody likes hearing anybody point out the little things we didn't do, or did wrong.

If you take care of the little things, the big things take care of themselves.

We have two. Thompson stats don’t look good but the WR’s let him down big time. And the refs didn’t help. Which we all expected on these road games coming in to the

And Sark is improving those details. Previous 2 regimes did not. It takes time, we are what, 10 MONTHS into Sarks regime? We have an adult coaching this team now.

Stupid penalties almost cost us.

Speaking of those terrible refs, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a ref overturning a holding call like they did in TCU’s favor in the first half. How the hell does that happen?

If his WR’s catch the ball he might get pretty close to that
Outside of the drops he still played terrible today. He’s not a Heisman candidate. I’m still not sure he’s our QB of the future. All he has done is beat up some bad teams. We will see what he can do on the big stage next week.

He’s definitely not the QB of the future, but that’s not a knock against him. Just the reality he’s a Jr. the QB of the future is either Malik Murphy or not on campus yet if we’re being honest. What Thompson can do and is doing is helping Ssrk get this program on a positive trend

Some of you are prisoners of the moment.

Anyway, so gracious of you to give flood and kwiatkowski more time. Also, Hudson card could still be an excellent qb for us-- do any of you remember colt his freshman year? Thank God for Jamaal Charles. You guys whine about player development-- some take longer to develop than others.

CT just needs to win. I could careless if he puts up crazy numbers.
Sark will never say this but I think that’s the reason he made the change. Sark knows he needs to build credibility, create some positive momentum, and he knows a good season does that. I don’t get the feeling he’s too caught up in who gets him there he just knows it needs to happen, and I think he saw Casey as the guy that could do it.

He know he needs to win whether it’s a blow out or by 1 point. He gets out of this season with 1 loss possibly 2 and things look up. Recruits, fan base, donors etc will be on board.

Hudson has talent for sure. May not end up showing it off at Texas. We will see how the rest of the season plays out, but as of right now Casey probably goes in to next year as the starter. If that’s the case Hudson hang around?

Yep. Hell even 3 losses is ok. Mack went 9-3 his first year. That’s kind of the bench mark in my mind. At least hit 9-3. Looks like this team is on track to at least do that right now.

I think this game was a great experience for Casey. He was certainly off today but Patterson's Defense took away a lot of his options and confused him with multiple looks. When you think about it, this was really the first time in Casey's career that he was game-planned by an elite defensive coach in Patterson. Yeah there were a couple of drops and a couple of missed long balls but he needs to keep firing away and not get hesitant. Once he sees the film he'll know how he needs to respond next time he sees those defensive looks. The real neutralizer for him is Bijan. As long as keeps running like that, Casey will be fine.

I would hope the head coach of any team would play the players that give them the best chance to win.
