I wouldn't even bother. Every single thread on the first page of TexAgs has some mention of Texas paying recruits. They are in denial, its as simple as that. Recruiting was super important when everybody was riding the JFB hype train, now its meaningless.
Don't want to read all the pages, but did anyone else have trouble getting on OB today? I just said screw it after an hour of trying.
Yeah, my timing must have been the worst possible, but I tried several different times over the course of a few hours, and it was down every time. Obviously things were working some of the time today, but not whenever I tried. I just said f*** it and enjoyed the developments elsewhere.
Incredible that Yahoo/Rivals still can't keep the site working on the most important recruiting day of the year. It's been this way for at least a decade now.
Burton on Irv Smith:
The New Orleans Brother Martin tight end is expected to announce for Alabama at 3pm.
According to those at Alabama, Smith has not been asked to greyshirt.
However, Texas has continued to recruit Smith despite his intent to sign with Bama.
We expect him to sign with Bama at 3pm.
Texas sits at 24 signed letters of intent from high school prospects.
I think we're done, but coach Strong still putting in work!

Unless next year is a complete disaster you gotta give Strong year 4. This program could be a real monster by then.
Yeah, I don't know that ANYONE can say that with 100% certainty, especially with this fanbase... but, man, give me a decently good year in 2016 because I want to see what can happen when these guys are sophomores and last years guys are juniors...
Strong literally cant go 6-6 next year. He just cant. 7-6 really isnt good enough either. 8 wins and the team plays consistently and doesnt get blown out by anyone, and he definitely gets a 4th year. QB play cannot be a dumpster fire. It just cant.
I think 8 wins or even more is possible. Hell we lost two games last year because of an extra point and a bad punt snap. I think 7 wins is the low mark next year.
For me it's less about the # and more about the quality of play. WAY to many blowouts last year. Limit thst and we should be ok.

I think these last two recruiting classes indicate that coach Strong's wait till their senior season strategy works.
They're literally insane. I don't think that's an exaggeration either.
I saw one early who posted a tweet from Boyd that said something about "taking care of you" after one of our signees announced, which they all took of course to mean that they are paying him. Dolts.
In his presser this afternoon, Strong said quite a few have been lined up for awhile but he didn't publicly take their commitment so that other coaches wouldn't know who to concentrated their negative recruiting on.
Most of you know Strong doesn't consider a recruit serious until they use one of their official visits on Texas. 32 kids came in on an official visit and he signed 24 of them.
With so many 5* year after year, it should not come as a big surprise to any recruit
it should be disclosed up front. Nothing wrong with grey shirting if the kid agrees, but telling a kid on or after signing day that they don't have a scholarship is pretty low.
Should be illegal. Offers should be more like an option contract, with the recruit having the option to sign for a full-ride, and with the team having restrictions/penalties on withdrawing offers... like maybe $ value of one years tuition, and must be more than 30 days before signing day or triple $ penalty, etc.
$15k penalty payable to the recruit might soften the blow of an offer withdrawn late in the game.

I like Coach Strong telling kids not to commit unless they are really gonna come. He tells them to wait until NSD and commit and he will have a scholarship for them. He said approximately 380 kids decommitted during the year.

Though it appears this offer came late as Daniels is/was set to announce tomorrow, it could be that the staff has been in contact with him for quite some time. They've done that with others.
Per Scout:
He has the necessary size of an interior defensive line prospect, but has the get off and explosion of a defensive end and that is why colleges are lining up to get his signature. He would look good in multiple defensive fronts and alignments. He also has tremendous closing speed in the open field, which allows him to track down opposing ball carriers quickly and efficiently. His game changing kills are had to find in a defensive lineman.
Strengths: explosion, quickness off the ball, and size.
