Sooooooooo the other day SWVAHORN showed us all his true colors by quoting yoda..... Swvahorn is a star wars dork.

Admittedly, so am I. So this morning I went to watch the movie. I'm not going to say that it tops the holy trilogy in every way. But........... JJ Abrams did a pretty good job. I'm going to leave it at that.

I am trying to wait till the crowds die down a little before I go see it. Looking forward to it!

Blazing Saddles was so damn funny. The town reminded me of College Station.
"What in the wide wide world of sports is goin on here! I hired ya'll to lay some track. Not dance around like a bunch of Kansas City *******!"

"Are we awake?"
"We're not sure. Are we..... black?"
"Yes, we are."
"Then we are awake.....but we're very confused"

I actually met the guy who played the cowboy foreman. Who did his line " why don't you sing a good old ------ work song" for us.

He lives in San Marcos now. Used to do commercials for a car dealership there.

I saw him one night out in New Braunfels YEARS ago and walking up to him and went "Sor, he specifically asked for a couple of ******. Truth be told, my mother's Dutch."

He laughed.

If memory serves correctly, he was an Irving firefighter. Met Mel Brooks, who cast him. Then he did commercials for a Dallas area car dealership. Didn't know they were in San Marcos now.

I had to look it up on IMDB. Burton Gilliam. He made commercials for Rodeo Ford in Mesquite. Says there he retired in Allen 2001, which is where I saw him. Maybe he has since moved to San Marcos.

In a side note Lieutenant Harris from Police Academy movies lives in San Marcos and was a teacher at SWT when I was there in early 90's. I assume he's still around there ?

Police Academy was so damn funny. Another classic. Police Academy 1 was the best but Police Academy 2-24 were all pretty good too.

New braunfels alamo drafthouse is doing a Blazing Saddles quote along in february. I think it's going to be funny as heII, but I hope everyone else sees it for the comedy that it is and not make it into something that's modern and doesn't represent it. A movie. By Mel Brooks. From 1974. Starring Gene Wilder.
