Quinn ewers

I agree, don't know if there's any weight to it.. just saw it and it made a bit of sense.
Todd stunk it up at North Texas. He's retiring from Westlake after this season.

Riley runs the exact same offense as daddy. I don't see Tech rolling the dice on am unproven commodity.

he did, I played against them in Highschool, I was being recruited by UNT until he took over. oh well hes a HS legend though

Looks like Xavier Worthy changed his profile picture on Twitter to a picture of Ewers. Maybe that’s a sign of things to come? May not mean shit but just thought it was ironic.

Apparently Ewers is visiting Tech today. Maybe they already know who their next coach is and have not made it public yet. Hence why would Ewers consider Tech not knowing who would be his coach?

You mean offensive coordinator?

If he goes to Tech he’s not serious about playing big time college football, and Texas should just move on, and not sweat it

Kinda weird that OB & IT are so quiet about it. Usually they create smoke even if there is no fire.

Dude we just went 5-7 sooooo... Easy on the record talk
The point is 5-7 is a bad year for us. 5-7 is. Yearly occurrence at Tech. Even when leach was there 8-4 was their ceiling most years.

there is all this talk about Quinn wanting to play with elite talent and having these recruits ready to go with him. Well Bijan Robinson will be the #1 RB in the 2023 draft. And worthy will be one of the top WR’s in the 2024 draft That will never be available at Tech

He may eventually be a stud, but its clear he's expecting to step directly into a starting role, and I have to wonder if a redshirt freshman transfer with zero gameday snaps in over 2 years is going to be the answer for improving UT's record in 2022.

He's already better than Casey or Hudson the day he steps foot on campus. Not going to take much to improve on a 5-7 record from this season.

From everything I'm hearing and reading today he's ours to lose at this point. If we do land him then I have a feeling we reel in a couple of the big name 5 star offensive lineman still out there. This could be a step in the right direction for this program.

Any thoughts on him vs the kid in California Maalik Murphy. if we take Ewers do we lose Murphy?

in my opinion Murphy needs a little time to work on mechanics. Ewers has 2 years and then he is eligible for the draft. If all goes well and say Ewers goes pro after 2 years Murphy will be a redshirt sophomore and be ready to go. Of course this Is all just hypotheticals.

Murphy seems pretty dead set on coming to Texas. We shall see what unfolds with Ewers and go from there. Nothing wrong with a little competition in the QB room at all.

Seriously if he doesn’t choose Texas he isn’t serious about playing in big time college football
Statements like this are the reason UT has a bullseye on its chest and gets everyone's best shot. That doesn't happen at OU, A&M or any where else.

That maybe so, but doesn’t make it any less true. You don’t play in important games at Texas Tech. That’s not knocking Tech just the way it is. Mike leach had ONE 10 win season and he often gets credit(rightfully so) for doing a great job whereas Texas, OU, Bama, etc 10 wins is the expectation rather than the anomaly

Someone on texags just said ewers committed to Texas late today and will be announced once the NIL deal is worked through.

Could be BS but I’m onboard!!

If we get him I doubt Sarkisian guarantees anything to him other than an opportunity to compete for the starting job. Ewers is crazy if he expects any decent coach to guarantee him a starting role during the recruiting process.

Coaches guarantee playing time to recruits all the time. It’s part of their pitch. I doubt Ewers will pull another OSU and go to a school where he couldn’t start right away.

i doubt Sark has promised him playing time, but I mean it’s not hard to look at the position and see he has a good shot. I’m sure he’s done that

I’ve seen the same thing today … we should know soon
